November 19, 2009, 3½ year old Bison Bull @ 30 yards. Broadside through the axis bone. I built myself a pre-64 M70 in .416 Rem Mag. 350gr. Barnes X, Mcmillan stock, Krieger barrel and a 1-4X Trijicon four post with the green dot. He went straight down. No meat damage. Not a real test, but it worked well. Buffalo eats great.

Mine 450 chip shot antelope w/257 WM, SON age 14, 530 antelope w/257WM, 5X5bull 540 w/325WSM.

An antelope near Laramie at 550. So far that's the longest kill I have. It was with a 300 Weatherby and a 165 gr. SST. It's an Accurmark with a 3X9 Leupold with a Kenton industries turret. PaLuke

Whitetail buck, 355 yards, around 55 degree, uphill shot, with 270 Win, running buck, 3 shots, 2 in the boiler room, and one in the legs. I dont think that was good shooting, I think it was luck, but it is my longest kill.:D
You guys have some impressive long range kills!!!

Was fortunate to take a very old 14 inch Montana Antelope after a long stalk at 440 yards. Great specimen for the N. Central area on public land. Also took a coyote at 656 yards during the same hunting trip. Both were taken "the old way." My hunting buddy had my range finder a thousand yards away and I had to take my best shot from what I knew. The coyote was as much luck as a good shot. He was walking up a rise on a far hill...rested the gun across a limb and held over. Using a custom Montana action and a 26 inch krieger barreled 270 wsm with 130 grain Barnes TTSX at 3380 fps.
