Longest Big Game Kill With Rifle

Last fall shot whitetail outside of Sundance, Wy at 360 yds with .270 cal 130 accubond.
Year before antelope at 460 yds with 6.5 X 55 130 gr VLD.

To all you LRHunters who have disciplined yourselves to learn and practice mastery of shooting at these distances, congratulations and thanks for the inspiration - I am just a learner by comparison.

My longest 1 shot kill = 260 metres (approx 285 yards).

Location = Broken Hill, NSW, Australia - semi/desert country.
Temperature = Warm approx 30+degrees C.

Target = goat standing facing me.
Hit = in centre of neck, instant kill.
Position = seated behind large log with front arm resting on top of log.

Rifle = CZ 527 LH American.
Calibre = 223 Remington.
Scope = Bushnell 5 - 15 x 50 AO, set on 10 x for this shot.
Load = 50 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip, 27 grains AR2206H, WSR primer in a Winchester case loaded to 58 mm LOA.

Just fine. I got a complete pass through with good expansion from the 215 Berger Hybrid at this distance.

I sold my 338 Lapua but I have Shawn building me a LRKM in 338 Terminator now.

I also want to say I would probably not go past 1000 on elk with my 300 win. But if conditions are very good small deer and antelope yes.
