This years muley buck was taken at 780 yards, 1st shot with a Rem 700 BDL, 7 RM w/162g AMAX, Leupold vx3 LR, 6.5-20x50, 30mm tube. Wish I had my home computer up and running with the pics!!
Whitetail deer at 75 yards with 6mmAI. Hunt in the woods so long is not an option.
These are what I can shoot at long range...
Feral hog at 385 yards. 300 RUM 210 Berger.
452 yard prarrie dog with 223 Rem.
Just killed a three point mule deer at 620 using a rem 700 pss in 7 mag with 168 gr. vld berger bullets. Not my farthest kill but still out there a little ways.
Just stepped up to the next group this year. I got a muley doe this year at ~425 yards. I couldn't range her because she was back in the brush a little bit. A tree trunk in front of her was at 406 and she was about 20 yards back from it. At the shot she looked like a drunk guy just standing up from a stool...one step to the left, three to the right, header into the dirt.
Thank you to everyone on this board, each of you had a part in what is so far, my longest shot.
Shot a 6x6 bull elk this year, he's been my biggest bull and my longest big game kill so far, 879 yds. Beat my old record which was a 32" muley buck at 742 yards, shot 3 years ago.
Both taken with my 300 RUM, 4.5-14x Leupy w/Premier Reticle dots, Harris bipod.
