Longest Big Game Kill With Rifle

5X5 Whitetail at 725 yards with my Weatherby Vanguard Back Country.
The rifle is glass bedded with a Timney trigger set at 2.4lbs, molli coated tube and a Versa Pod.
30-06 180gr Combined Technology Ballistic Silvertip launched with 57.6gr IMR 4831, magnum primer at 2780fps.
The optic is a Bushnell 4200 Tactical 3-12X42 with 1/3 MOA turret. It sits on Nightforce rings and 20moa solid base.
I also use Bushnell Fusion 10X50 rangefinding binoculars and a Kestral 3500 weather station.

1442 yds Doe during red tag season in somerset pa. 7mm STW 162 A max national match bullet. (long discontinued unfortunatly). My friend missed first 2 shots I dropped her on the third. Our bushnell laser wouldnt range that far, but the old war relic optical range finder works wonders at any visible range.
I am still hoping for the 1 mile deer. Someday maybe.

560 Yards Whitetail doe back in 2007 with a 270 WSM 130 BT with 66.6 RL19 on with a 215... was running around 3450fps out of an M77 Hawkeye with a Buckmaster 6-18...

465 yard cross canyon shot back in 2010 on my 6x6 Mulie buck....
257 Roy Model 700 LSS Buckmaster 6-18, 115 ct 3230 fps.... 67 gr Rl22 215


Just built up a 300 Rum in Sendero II... Burris FFII 6.5-20-50 AO and weaver tactical top end... I had a Vias Muzzlebreak installed..
Still doing load development with her...
Seems to despise single base propellants. Thrives off of RL25 and RL50. Im just waiting for RL33 to test the 190 Hornady SPBT..

With a cva apex 35 whelen. 225gr nosler accubonds at 2800 fps
Not bad for a break open single shot.
