I have all three 6mm's (.243, 6 Rem, 6CM) + two 6x45's. All are very good. However, if you're just getting into the 6mm mode my vote would be to go 6mm CM.6CM. You will get a better twist rate, allowing the use of heavier higher BC bullets. A 105 Hyb is a deer slayer. We have killed mule deer out at 500+, and pronghorn too. No problems.
My 24" 1:7.5" 6CM pushes a 105 @ 3188fps, or 115 VLD @ 3085fps.
