the 6.5 needmoor
I love the 22lr! It's the other rimfires I have no use for. I learned to shoot on a Cooey single shot bolt gun, the kind where you have to manually pull the hammer back each shot. Taught me so much discipline, everything was done on purpose and with intent.Buy a dedicated 16 twist 22lr AR upper and a dozen Mad Dog 25rd magazines and you will gain a new appreciation for the 22lr. Especially if you have kids.
I would love to see that 175 ELD-X get that velocity while still be loaded to the 2.93" required out of a repeater and no pressure signsa 284 will dp just fine
h100v and 760 will both beat 2700 fps with a 284 and a 175... all my orphan needmoor will do with a 140-143 is 2700 fps with either I4831 or h4350

During Obama's reign of Terror when you couldn't find anything 22 related I bought a Henry Lever action chambered in 17HMR. Every store I went into had their shelves full of the ammo and cheap. I was able to shoot it and not deplete my meager supply of 22LR or WMR.You know what…I've been trying to stir up more hate within myself…I realize I have no use for any rimfire other than 22LR. I hate them!
The ammo for 22 wmr, 17 wsm, 17 hmr (even saw 5mm rem mag on auction the other day) is more expensive by far than just handloading for a 22 or 17 hornet or even a downloaded 223. I just don't get the appeal.

look at the data... they are literally doing what you claim isn't true... now put that load in your crappy loose factory chamber and you may have issues, but a tighter chamber and decent barrel length should do that just fine....I would love to see that 175 ELD-X get that velocity while still be loaded to the 2.93" required out of a repeater and no pressure signs

Dude, you're showing load data for the Swift A Frame, which has a shorter overall length than the 175 eld-x, AND a BC of only .493 which is probably why you didn't include all the information. You're arguing in bad faith, or just a moron.look at the data... they are literally doing what you claim isn't true... now put that load in your crappy loose factory chamber and you may have issues, but a tighter chamber and decent barrel length should do that just fine....
I simply didn't grab the whole thing because I thought you just might be intelligent enough to actually go the Hodgdon site and look the listing up... The 284 is about the same volume as a 30-06 so it'll eat around 60 grains of ball powder... 55 wouldn't be tough even with a deep seated bullet... Anyway, I'm done arguing with you as you are just going to try the straw man game all dang day...Dude, you're showing load data for the Swift A Frame, which has a shorter overall length than the 175 eld-x, AND a BC of only .493 which is probably why you didn't include all the information. It's not a straw man. The requirements for comparison were hunting with a short action non magnum repeater using bullets with higher BC than the 143 ELD-X , with better ballistics that that off a 6.5. The creedmoor is the best at slinging high weight for cartridge bullets out of a short action with low recoil for hunting out to 600, that's it's niche.I simply didn't grab the whole thing because I thought you just might be intelligent enough to actually go the Hodgdon site and look the listing up... Small, short action cartridges don't really matter in a rifle anyway (nice pistol round though).
I'll fart a 175 eld-x out of my 7rum at 2900 fps with a start charge or run my 7stw full throttle if I want to play.
You put those requirements out there after being shown you were wrong in stating that nothing was "as efficient as a 6.5cm until you got to 338". What short action non magnum 338 were you referring to? Or did you just change the parameters to suit your stance? It's not a straw man. You start bringing out your bs with cartridges that shine better out of a long action and now you're talking about ultra mags. Are you high?
Are you? I'm no stranger to realizing I've gotten a little too worked up in a conversation with strangers on the internet and said something that made me look silly. You're in that territory. Why not take a step back and decide if this trivial conversation is worth calling people morons about? It's not a straw man. Whenever we slaughter a steer it's with .22 LR. Right between the eyes. And the moral of the story is…….never allow yourself to short on 22LR's. 20K rounds is a good base inventory! memtb
