What is your best deer rifle

Like most everyone here, I have several favorites...but its a close race between a couple...

One is a 90's model Rem 700 Stainless BDL 30-06 w/ 24" barrel sitting in a McMillan Edge stock that's light and handles extremely well.
With Rem's long throat and handloads from 125 grain to 165 or even 180 grain bullets and todays variety of powders, it's a very accurate and consistent go to rifle.
There's not much more to want or need.

My other favorite is a Long Action 284 Winchester throated for the long ones up to 180 Hybrid.
It also shoots very well with a wide range of handloads including Accubond, BT, Old Solid Base, ABLR and most flat base bullets.

These two, along with a few 308's, are my easiest rifles to load for with a wide range of bullets.

Either my ~1978 Ruger #1 in 25-06 shooting 90gr Hammers at over 3600 fps.....or my Browning X-Bolt 30-06 shooting 168gr Speer Gold Dots. Both have put venison on the table at the current rate of 1 bullet = 1 dead deer.

.

Ruger American in 350 Legend. When i got it Iowa just opened up straightbwall cartridges and this round is my favorite for close in on deer still. The picture is from the day I confirmed the reticle is accurate to 400 yards with the PrimaryArms ACSS for 7.62x39 with the 150g deer season XP. We were running out of light to get to 500.

The two that have killed the most deer are a Marlin 336 30/30. First gun my dad bought me at 12. I learn to shoot on a 94 Winchester 30/30. Those two guns have probably killed more deer than all my others combined. The Marlin has killed over a 100 in my lifetime. My other favorite is a Styer PH in 7-08 with a 20" barrel. It likes 120s. This year I will be running a 16" Sig Cross in 308. Had the gun a few years but this is the first year I have hunted with it. I like it so far. Great backpack gun. I run 168 AMAXs in my 308s

Reading all of the good stuff about the marlin 336s in this forum made me go out and buy one lol. Talk about bad influences

Marlin 336 chambered in 32 Special. My dad bought it for my mom in 1952 for $70.95.
I put a Williams Peep Sight on it and Fiber front sight. Also have the original parts.
I don't shoot it and have not shot it in 40+ years. Probably only has three boxes of cartridges (60) shot through it.

Hi guys, hey what's your best deer rifle, mine is a Browning A bolt 30-06.
No problem here identifying that gun-I had it built in 1985 - Rem700 ADL - 280 AI barreled by Shilen #4 sporter is and old Brown Precision synthetic stock, not only deer, but elk and antelope also. I might need to thrash some pigs this year with it. My favorite load has been 60 grains of H1000 pushing a Nosler 160 Accubond, as hard as they have been to come by I might give the Hammer Hunters a try. I am also fond of my first center fire rifle, a Remington 700 BDL 270 Win that my parents got me for Christmas when I was a sophomore in high school in 1967- they paid $110 for it at Gibson's Discount, I did not get a scope for it until I graduated from high school and my aunt gave my dad $50 for a scope, he got me a used Weaver K 4- which I took apart to clean a year later because it looked dirty inside- dumb kid learns lesson on a gas filled scopes- it really fogged up in a snow storm on a NM deer hunt that year- shot a mule deer buck at 40 yards thru a peep hole sized opening in the scope- I traded that scope off on a Leupold 4X -
