I have a steyer 98 action in 308 win ackley improved. The barrel is a shilen barrel it has a 1-10 twist and it is 26 inches long. The is pillar bedded corelite stock. It is barrel heavy and shoots like a dream.

Have left hand 700 with half round half octagon, solid rib and front sight all out of a single piece of steel in 338-06 AI. Shot a nice wide (29.25") Whitetail with the old rifle.

Got this ol girl also which is a wash right now between which one is my fav. Defiance deviant, EH1, proof sendero lite in 7RM throated for 180s. Running a gemtec tracker can. She is got scope pulled as I didn't draw a deer tag this year for rifle but she is patiently waiting. Been running a amg scope on it. Handy little rig.

Oh man, it depends. In my ground blind I use my Swedish M38 in 6.5x55. In my open tree stand my Swedish M42B in 6.5x55 or my M1D Garand. In my wooded tree stand, my 300 blackout AR or my Swedish 1894/14 in 6.5x55. On my buds bean fields, my Desert Tech SRS a1 in .300 WM (or maybe the .260 Rem, or maybe even the .338 LM just for grins). So many choices. All of them kill deer just as dead.

I have a custom sporter Husky M38 with a turned down barrel which shoots .5 groups all day; great little rifle. But when you say "M42B" Are you referring to the M41B Ajack sniper rifle or the AG/M42B semi? Either one are rare cats.

Steyr ProHunter in either 243,308 or 300wm depending on location. But a Browning A Bolt 270 is my old faithful. I do have a Hill Country 308 that will see some action this year.
