What is your best deer rifle

As always don't want to start a political/cartridge debate, especially related to ethically killing deer (which is easy). There's so many great calibers from 243 or 25-06 to my favorite for everything 35 whelen. Find a historical cartridge or obvious new caliber that will do the job within your capable hunting distance. Best of luck/experience 😁

Killed the biggest Idaho Whitetail I've ever shot with my Winchester 94 pre-64 (1942) .30 WCF my best Deer rifle hands down. Cheers

M94 30 30 year 1942 - Copy.jpg

For NE & SE White Tail a .243 loading Lapua Brass, H-4350 CCi Primer and bullets around 100 gr SGK. Rifle is a Rem 700 Mountain Drop Mag with a B&C stock and 22" barrel. gets 0.33 or less MOA. Glass is a Nikon Gold 2.5X10 Limited run.
Now for the NE in Brush Country - Scrub Oak for close shots use a .32 Special Marlin 336 with Williams Peep sights.

A loaded question. I've used my .300 win mag a lot but it's kinda silly as a dedicated deer rifle. Nonetheless it's my all game all purpose all distance rifle and I'm fond of it.

My .270 has taken the most deer. I've had it the longest. It works. The 270 Winchester is the cartridge against which all other dedicated whitetail and mule deer cartridges are judged in my book.

My present love interest that I'm most excited to take deer hunting in November is a Weatherby vanguard in .257 Weatherby magnum.

For brush hunting or other close range, rough use, and fast handling situations my iron sighted husqvarna 8mm mauser or borrow my dads marlin 336 30-30.

It sure is loaded! It's hard to pick just one.
