My 257 is in an old 760 REM that's had the trigger done, (light& sweet) My Uncle Karl had one that he hunted deer & Elk with. He sold it before he knew I would've loved to have it
And my 300 savage is in a 1952 REM 760 untouched, open sighted that Loves the 150gr Hornady Superformance Load that ouches @ 50$/20 box
My next 2 older brothers each got a used 760 Gamemaster in 30-06 when they passed the Hunter's Safety Course (Mom insisted on this) and were ready for their first deer hunt. Know what I got a year later when I met all the same criteria??Hi lol IMO, I like the 308, but it has its limits. I feel it's at max with 165/168gr. Heavier may do. Fine at closer distances. It doesn't have the "cubic inch" for heavier bullets. Many might disagree with me. I feel speed helps . If the cartridge doesn't have the HP , get a bigger one
Alright. Lines are being crossed left and right. 7mm and .257 are two of the best! 7 Saum is an all time favorite, and I shoot a lot of 25 creed, and also got a 25 Saum on the way! Between those 3 I'd pretty much be content foreverI'll add quarter bore to that
