Smoking Sunday or Sunday Smoking

I guess you could if using charcoal but not with something that produces a large 🔥. It would depend on how hot the charcoal was or what stage of smolder.

I normally put wood chips or apple wood sawdust in my smoker but apple is super hard to find here in Helena.I can find apple pellets but not apple chips.Just wondering if wood pellets would work.
Edit to say:Electric Smoker-Master Craft 30 Inch Smoker

Question:
Can I use pellets in my non pellet smoker?
Yes get a smoke tube or two. I light mine with a Bernz-a-Matic stand them up to burn like a candle for a few minutes blow the flame out and let them smoke. Keep them on the no flame side of the grill so they don't ignite. I use them in my gas grill if I don't feel like cleaning the pellet grill. They are excellent for cold smoking cheese, in the cold.

Got a smoke tube,a large one and can find apple pellets to augment my chips. Thanks a bunch.
If it ever stops snowing I'll be more active smoking.
Poor FEENIX and Akdad has it worse than me as they are in the middle of the worst of the snow storm just north of us but better weather is coming!!!!!

It's not too bad. I prefer firing the snow blower over the mower, so I am good for now. I am not quite ready for the heat, and I am not a fan. 🤣
