In the Ear? Really???

been a little busy. will be guiding on a charity hog hunt for the next few days, but when i get back to hunting i'll be dispensing plenty of pain.

dirty nutz, thanks for the help post, but ughhh, i think i'll take it from here.
ps - hammer of the gods has arrived... and my buddy got the pro 4 640. it's some baaaaad mojo!!!

So I have my first picture to post finally, and I know that there may be some snickering but some of us have to start small.

This is a 'would-be' cat food stealer who was caught in the act. He ran behind a sheet of plywood that was leaning up against a wall so I just went around to the other side with my specially modified short barreled 12 ga and at about 14-18" let some #7 shot fly. open up and say AHHHH!! :D

Hello everybody, it's been a while. I looked at the previous pic and was wondering what it was, The 'possums we have 'round here are lighter in color. I guess it's the the part of the country or is just the light or lack there of.

I finally got my 'cat finished (only took 2 years +/-) so I guess that I'm going to go look around and see if I can scrape up some more load suggestions.

Has the length of this thread(?) set a record or is it just close?

Y'all have good one, Paul gun)

My totally unscientific opinion is that fur color is influenced by diet. The deer and squirrels I see in the swamp bottoms that have access to the acorns are much darker than the deer and squirrels that live away from the swamp bottoms. I've seen this for the 6 years I've been in SC. Not sure how it applies elsewhere. I may be and am probably totally wrong on this, but I'll throw it out there until I hear otherwise.

I was able to make it to my hunting spot yesterday. The recent floods knocked out a number of bridges, so I had to take 8 roads to get to my spot when it usually only takes 3.

The flood waters pushed the hogs out of the swamp bottom and I got about 3k photos on my trail camera. I'm headed down for an afternoon so hopefully I can get one.

Go get a bunch. Kill the big sows and give them to people who can use and know how to cook them. Get yourself some squeelers about 30 to 50 lbs. on the hoof, depending on your freezer. You can always cut them down and freeze the parts. Good Luck, Paul

50 cal is ready and on standby. took out the 600 yard gong like it was standing still. well, ok... i guess it was standing still. but something's going to get shot with it!!

i finally got out yesterday and saw a goat carcass. notified the GW and he said he had heard of folks making goat sacrifices deep in the area i hunt. goats are one thing, but if they ever start wearing hog heads it may become a bit of a problem.
