  • yes 308. scope is night optics d740. i've had it a long time and still like it a lot. texas allows lights, lasers, night scopes, just about anything for non-game animals.

    not sure which hogs you're talking about, but they aren't as big as they look. putting the camera on the ground and close to the hogs makes them look big. i don't think i've shot anything close to 300 in several years. most that look big are probably 175-225, but i don't weigh them anymore.
    What some HOGGS, I see you mentioned 168 grain bullet, I'm assuming the semi-Automatic rifle you are using is a .308. What type of optics do you use? Can you use lights after dark in your location?

    I live in Northeast Alabama the porkers have not made it to my area yet. I'm told there are hogs in South Alabama, they are located in Mississippi and Georgia probably located in the south in both of those states. I hope the beast make it to my part of the State of Alabama while I'm still able to hit the woods. I can imagine how good the wild pork must taste. What was the weight of the two shown in your photo.

    hmmm. wish i had an excuse for not seeing this message for three and a half months, but i don't. guess i just wasn't expecting to hear from anyone. so... did you ever make it over?

    half the battle is opportunity. after hearing of restrictions in other states, i'm even more grateful to be in texas. good luck and sorry for the delayed response.
    Just a note to say I have enjoyed your write up. I have never been listed as a great hunter, but I have enjoyed shooting steel for years. Your write up has encouraged me to try a hog hunt some time this year. Texas is just a short drive from my home in Arkansas and many ranches are offering some great prices, just might have to give it a try. Thank you for entertainment.

    Best regards;
