you can't just 'switch to peanut stuff'. you have to make it look attractive or it won't work.

I'm going to have to stop checking this thread from work. If someone was walking by my office and heard me laughing when I saw this I'd be in trouble!

Got to admit, Mr. Jones, that you have gotten pretty good on the Photo-slop, and apparently started developing a sense of humor also! Yep, this was on of your better ones!

it seems hogs are under control for the time being. however, nature never sleeps. when one invasive species is eradicated, another moves in. enter... the chupacabra, or devil dog; half wolverine, half bat, but definitely full blooded devil. i had to call upon all my cunningness just to get close to him. still, after killing him, even i was too apprehensive to get close enough to be in the pic.

Just some poor half starved Coyote - domestic dog half breed! What next, zombies? Any excuse for no Hogs!........:D

Am here in Yakima, WA. Left Olympia yesterday and came over to see my Sister and Brother-in- law, on my way home to Arizona. Leaving here tomorrow headed for Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho area. Next day from Idaho and try to get through Salt Lake city to Fillmore, Utah, where there is a great resort right along the freeway just North of Fillmore. Very clean, nicely taken care of and very decently priced....$59 - $79.00 range but comparable to much more expensive places. Next days jump to Kingman, AZ through Vegas and then home to Vail, AZ.

While here, because of the Agriculture, Yakima is Pick-up truck central, so going to look around for a new truck. Got rid of mine when I retired and been driving BJ's Subaru Outback for the last few years. 5th Subaru and NONE have gone less than 250,000 - 300,000 miles with no major problems. Looking for a "Cream Puff" truck.....Can be used, but low mileage and I know what I'm looking for. Found exactly what I was looking for in Olympia, but not going to pay $46,000 for a depreciating asset, since I can't write them off any more. Also, as a Arizona resident, don't have to pay Washington State sales tax. Saves a few bucks for this poor retired senior citizen.....:)

Anyway will try and keep you posted, somewhat.

Just noticed thqt the Packrat emoticon I'm using appears to be female....No reflection on my individual tastes, just a temporary fill-in til I can get home...................LOL

Well pac I cant sell you any of my trucks cause I own nothing low miles. hell my new 15 F150 I got a few months back already has 30,000 miles on it. beside for $46,000 you should be able to buy a new one. I got my crew cab brand new with 3.5l ecoboost for $43,000. This might be the first truck I don't put 60,000 miles on the first year cause everytime I bring it in for more go fast parts they keep it forever. I dropped it off the first day I bought it and got it back 32 days later all tuned up with 418 hp at the rear wheels. Brought it back in two weeks ago for more work and they wont be done till next week. oh well at least it will be really fast now. lol

I thought you were just projecting your feminine side. Not to worry, nobody here will judge you.

I don't worry about it, DN, just thought it showed my state of mind lately since I didn't even notice it earlier. Besides djones accuses everyone else of walking with a lisp anyway!

What I meant was that I COULD buy a new one, but they wanted $46,000 for it and it loses $10,000 in value the minute it leaves the lot. Used to be able to write that off in depreciation, but not sure I can now!

Gave up the "go fast" parts back when they established speed limits and started enforcing them, back when I was young. Remember getting my first speeding ticket for going 22 in a 10 MPH zone, and this was on the highway!.....:D

Going to sneak into Texas and see about stealing Coy's red Hot Rod truck off his ranch. AND it is is a ranch! Population is somewhere about 340, but only 22 of those are cows, rest are family!.....Typical Texas ranch...Up here in Washington we consider 8-10 cows per acre...Down there, they consider 46 acres per cow, and still have to supplement their feed.

Will try and check back in tomorrow.

See my follow-up post.....

Typed out my follow-up post for about an hour and then the WIFI from the Hotel went down....Will re-do it later.....Kind of a funny story, but then again, not really.

Guess I'm going to have to check my deodorant again........No one here since last night....Darn and I'm applying it every week or so, and no one complains when djones shows up smelling like putrescent hog from the road kill he's claiming as shot this week!

Having trouble with the keyboard on the laptop. Letters are too close together and I keep hitting 2 at a time. Takes me forever to type anything.....Oh well.

Will check back tomorrow!

rattpuke,

what ever happened to getting your brother's rifle? i'm ready to see a kill pic with it.

also, i may have a gently cared-for mint condition truck with a few gentle miles on it. never been off road except for parking it in the grass, but not before laying a blanket out for it.

now for the kill update. couldn't wait for the super blood red giant moon, or whatever it is. it's already bright and i had to get out there.

after 63,827 lectures from ratfink, i figured i was ready for the test ... IN THE EAR!!!

hog1_zpsas5bsmj4.jpg

and speaking of in the ear, how about... ANOTHER ONE!!!

did somebody say... in the ear?? oh yea, I DID!!!!! what a fatty!!

hog3_zps7aufwrlc.jpg

and i caught the chupa's brother eating on the old hog from the cornfield. i couldn't coax it off the carcass with lip squeaks, so i just had to go ahead and make the 1,167 yard shot with my flashlight. i didn't want to touch the mangy critter, but you can be sure his other ear is bloody.

Wow dj, very nice hogs and in the ear too. Looks like a new day gun.

I thought we were through with the mange. I guess not.

On another note I don't appreciate you trying to run under me on a pickup deal with Packrat. My old red pickup has never been off the hiway (much) and was only driven 45 mph and slower. I always used the turn signals when I drove too. It has been over 600,000 actual pampered miles and will still outrun a hog. Better than new!!! And the radio still works! It knows where its going and I have removed the third set of side mirrors so it will get better mileage. All the wires under the bottom of the truck have been lovingly moved where the hogs and what little brush we have (cough) will not pull them into.

Come on by Packrat and we will make a deal......just bring cash as I would not want you to stop payment on a check.
