In the Ear? Really???

not sure if i mentioned it because of the 'no pic, no pig' rule, but i shot this guy a few weeks ago on a turnrow next to some corn. he ran in and i never found him. the corn is cut now and i found the carcass about 30 yards in. he was a good one.

Well, here we go with the old djones "lets claim credit for anything in the county, cause if it's dead, I must have shot it at sometime in the past" scenario's! I have to admit that he doesn't ever give up if there is credit to be claimed for a dead hog! He'll claim he just happened to be driving that semi that hit that sounder of hogs out on the freeway 2 weeks ago, too. If there had been a Camera available, I'm sure the pictures would have been posted here with djones face peering over the top and a semi in the background.

Probably didn't hear about it until too late to get a picture........Yep! Sure thing!..................................

Sure would have made a nice kill photo though!

Well, the Corporate offer has been made and now I have to decide if I want to go back to work or not! Don't really know what I'm going to decide. Unfortunately, they want me to open new markets in Texas, particularly, the West side to include just about everything West, North and South of Austin, which puts me within range of djones's .338 so have to be real careful about what I decide or decide to tell you all! Or at least him! Not thrilled with the thought of my nutz decorating his wall.

Would enjoy the weather more than I am here, since I'm acclimated to Arizona, and am freezing up here in Washington even though every one else is running around in what I consider Beach attire. Would allow me to get back to active hog hunting again and even post a few pictures, and I don't have to play corporate politics now, to just hunt hogs.

Am changing my schedule, leaving here next week and go back to Arizona to settle a few things, then taking a tour of the West side of Texas on my way to Houston, then North to KC and on to Illinois, then Michigan, almost reversing my planned itinerary. A few unanticipated things came up that have to be resolved in Arizona, so will take care of them first.

Will check back later

Sounds like SC is getting the shaft...

scrmblr,

As I heard it, SC IS the shaft!........LOL..........or maybe it was referred to as a bodily orifice....don't remember which....:)

Nothing is set in concrete yet, I may just break loose from Michigan and do a tour of the Eastern Seaboard. If this happens, will be researching carrying weapons in cars traveling thru to Virginia, and heading south along the coast. Will for sure not go North from there! Still waiting on a better offer than Chicken and Ribs......................:D

A whole lot of my traveling is going to be weather dependent.

Also got the offer to take over the Marketing for Western Texas under consideration. While they gave me some time to think it over, I know they would like an answer within the next 2 months. The guy they have there now isn't happy with the area and wants to go back to the Dallas-Fort Worth contract. West Texas too rude, crude and unattractive for his refined tastes. I would probably fit right in!

Do know for certain that am going to Alaska next summer for a week or so and maybe longer, but the company is already aware of that.

Just keep the Chickens in the Bog for now and the ribs on the hogs or beef and I'll let you know whats happening before it happens.

OK djones, the jig is up...Neighbor of my son's works at Madigan Army Hospital in the Pathology Department and after looking at that picture, says that Hog is over 3 months dead from the state of decomposition. Next time you stumble across a Hog that died from natural causes, try to make the story fit the circumstances! ......Jeeezz......You'll try to get away with anything!

pics can be deceiving. heck i'm nearly 40 but photos make me look closer to 30!!

pretty sure i shot that hog back around aug 22nd when i posted a pic of three others. he's one of two that got away. don't think i've lost any others from that field. i think getting run over by a combine aged him a little; not to mention getting ripped apart by coyotes and other hogs.

i'm not thrilled about seeing your nutz either... on my wall or anywhere else for that matter. don't take the job!!

Hoohah! 40 looking like 30?............How about 62 looking like 75. I've seen less miles on a heavily used, used tire!

However, after reading your post, Larry did back down and say that it was possible that that hog had only been shot last month! We had a discussion about him making me look bad to the readers by him letting me quote an opinion that might not be totally accurate. It's getting harder to find "experts" that won't weasel on their words later!

So, if apologies are due, you have them, but I'm still skeptical!

Well, in regards to the first statement, if I and others didn't post here, this thread would have died from boredom and lack of the founders input quite a while back.

In regards to the second statement, it's obvious that from your other posts that you don't feel up to the job of shooting at me yourself so are trying to contract it out to double naught. You think I don't read the other threads? Besides you probably don't have that much room on your walls!.....................................

As far as the job goes, probably not going to take it anyway....Don't need either the money or the aggravation! Would only consider it out of boredom.

I've been out the past two nights hoping to kill hogs, but the hogs didn't show up. There were about 8 days between the time the old depredation permit expired and the new one went into effect.

While I don't have any new hog kill photos, I did get some pics of the sounder I'm chasing.

Dang scrm, seen any trees lately? I my part of the world we would call that a wall!

The vegetation gets thick around here. The photos were taken in a small food plot in a 12 year old pine growth.

It gets so thick in some areas that you can't crawl or walk through it, so we have to sit and hunt over bait. Soybeans are about 4' tall, so one can't see them out in the fields. Corn harvest started week before last, so some hunting areas are opening back up.

Warning! This thread is more than 6 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
