Hey ZJ, you know anything Bing about star ranch in mason Texas. I am heading down this winter wondering if you know of them.
havent been in that area in over 20 years. used to bowhunt in llano. edwards plateau in the triangle between mason llano and fredricksberg will be good hunting.
hit a good boar with the creedmoor at 585 yards. he was too close to brush and i lost him. i had just been shooting out to 1200 yards and had good dope to 40 moa. should have been a tap in but...THAT WIND!!!!!

1200 yards? The only two places around here that I could find that distance are on Interstate 95 and the runway at the airport!

Ya me to funny how most my guns are long range. Makes a big problem when I get to go out west which one to take
It's about 50/50 for me. I've been trying to get to a friend of a friends place to shoot 800 yards. I'd have to look hard for anything longer around here.
most irrigation systems around here are a quarter mile, so they're watering a half mile diameter circle. and there are lots of places where the circles are next to each other.
last night i hid in the middle of half mile pivot in a mile wide circle till after midnight, but no one wanted to get shot.
one of these days i'm going to see if i can hit a steel gong at a mile with the 338 lm. even if you don't have a place to shoot long range, it's still fun shooting guns that accurate at a few hundred yards.
until i can shoot something, i'll have to dig back to the scrap pile of pics...

You will not have any issues hitting 1 mile with your .338LM. Don't your have the Savage? I've got the same gun. I just don't have access to a mile for a shot.
One of my employees told me that hogs are rooting up her backyard. She said that she and her daughters stood in their backyard and tried to shoo them away last night, but the hogs ignored them. I'm going to take a 40lb bag corn to her house tomorrow afternoon to bait them. I should be able to sit on her back porch and shoot them without any problems.

yes it's the savage 110ba. been a pretty good shooter for me. remember that goat i shot a little over 600 yards?

DJ maybe when I head down that way I'll make you take me out to these long shots. I'd like to see what you could do with my 338 AM. Unless I decide to change to a 375 AM. It's going on two years so waiting for him to Call and finalize all the little details. I know I can't ring it out to its capabilities but I love see people who can.

finally got on some hogs. first one was a good sized boar, as the solo hogs often are. i thought i was closer but he was 185 paces. at that distance luck has a lot to do with me connecting. unfortunately, filthy nutz spy jinxed me with a comment about cables coming loose from recoil. that's just what happened. there's only about 15 feet of ground to cover to get to safety. what you don't see is him folding up on the third shot.

then i came up on a group of hogs. the brush is so thick in these places i've been baiting them to draw them out. not sure how close i was, but not close enough to stick it in the ear. too many eyes to chance getting any closer. some already looked like they saw me.
i really expected the first hog to drop and was hopeful for several kills. didn't happen. you can see the first shot hit right behind the shoulder and blood spurting out. not the best spot to shoot, but still pretty impressive it could run as far as it did with a shot to the chest. i stayed on it until it took a nose dive.

Man you must have really ****ed some people off if that's were you go right away. I haven't punched anyone in the throat in a long long time so I may. Or it's just a way to get you alone where no one can hear your screams. Lol
