Wind turbines hands down kills more raptors. It would be interesting to learn which killed more bald eagles........ farms through pesticides or hunters with lead bullets.

I see your point in the "off switch". However I would prefer to minimize the meat loss - for example, the scapula has really good meat (to make osso bucco, smoke, etc.), plus the risk of creating a fractured bone mess at the end of the back loin and neck musclesYoung kids or not, Mono offerings have worked well for me. My aim point may have changed to some degree since shifting to monolithic depending on which mono I am using. For the record, Long range hunting is not a thing for me. My average shot distance on game is less than 100 yards when hunting deer. (only larger game I hunt)
I have used the monolithic bullets in 270 winchester, 6.5 grendel & primary recently in 6mm ARC. This is with bolt action rifles in all cases. Monos in these situations simply works & work well in my experience. While it is not news that cup & core bullets work well as well, there are instances where each can be more reliable.
understand the strengths & weakness of monos & proceed accordingly. For me, Brachial plexus shot placment is more frequently used since going monolithic. I also favor the brachial plexus shot placement with many cup & core offerings since discovering this option.

Try some Hammer Hunters. They will change your mind10 of the most boring videos I've e ever watched. I hate monos they are next to impossible to tune. I've only tried Barnes,Nosler and Hornady. I'll stick with Accubonds
Windmills certainly do kill a bunch of raptors, looks like around 83,000 per year. But 73 million "birds" die each year from pesticide poisoning. So I wouldn't be surprised at all that pesticides kill more raptors than windmills for now. Until they build more windmills.Wind turbines hands down kills more raptors.
The number of birds that we use to have around our home out in country has diminished quite a bit such we have noticed. The local farms around us are environmentally certified through reduction of pesticides and herbicides. Still makes you wonder are we next...Windmills certainly do kill a bunch of raptors, looks like around 83,000 per year. But 73 million "birds" die each year from pesticide poisoning. Oh heck I'm surprised I made it to 21. I just find it ridiculous to make lead bullets the focal point for raptor deaths when there are oblivious greater causes in my mind. It's like the lefties screaming more gun control because 30k people die each year from all firearms related deaths. Yet they support abortions which have killed close to a million fetuses (babies) per year in the US since the 70's.The number of birds that we use to have around our home out in country has diminished quite a bit such we have noticed. Ya scared me just now……I thought this thread had pushed you over the edge! memtbI'd settle with keeping the pesticides, oil wells, wind/ solar plants, farm chemicals, and lead bullets. I'd rather just see sensible/ feasible use of them. I'm done with this thread. I've been dry firing my Glock while involving myself with subject. The .25 cent smooth and tune is finished. Dry firing has it well settled in and ready for training lol.
