I’m Convinced. No Lead Bullets for Game

AR= animal rights
Yes -- AR= animal rights! When they're called an AR, some of them will emotionally explode and lose all credibility when testifying in front of elected officials because of losing their cool! They're almost all anti-hunting and anti-gun and hate being called an AR because that's the normal term for an AR-15 which they think means "assault rifle"! They're very easy to defeat when they lose emotional control -- and I know many of them to be essentially an "emotional cripple"!

Also -- I wouldn't even hunt in Canada because they've allowed their government to be so restrictive -- much less live there!

I have already (voluntarily) converted to all copper bullets for hunting, no regrets and no lost animals. I'll still gladly shoot lead at targets. My dad sees about one lead poisoned bald eagle per year on the farm, some go to rehab and survive, most don't. If I can prevent one per year, that's more than good enough a reason for me.

Judging by the idiotic comments in this thread, lead poisoning is still a legitimate concern for some of you. Bragging about how much lead you regularly consume is not the flex that your heavy metal addled brain thinks it is.

Oh, for a minute there I thought I was looking at a style of governance.
It's called "destroying the evidence". Now we'll never know the truth...and this thread will never mature into a satisfactory conclusion. The copper poppers got roasted and the lead melted and got all mixed up with the copper in the hopper. We're all doomed. Miscegenation of the Leadbetters and the Monofreaks has corrupted the race. So sad. 😢
(tired and silly - I better move on)

I've been heavily involved in the opposition against the anti-hunting crowd since 2003 on a local, state and national level -- and aware of it since 1992! It's the same group of people who are the extremist animal rights (AR's) people which are Peta, HSUS (Humane Society of the United States), Predator Defense etc! They're all on the same side of the political aisle and have many of the same personality traits! The no lead movement in regards to hunting has taken root from the efforts of Peta, HSUS and other AR's! Falling into that mantra is falling into their agenda which advocates no animal use whatsoever, including not owning pets! Each step to compromise with the AR's -- or buying into the no lead movement is a step closer to their extremist agenda! I'm 78 years old and have eaten game killed with lead bullets all my life and am still healthy -- both physically and mentally! I will continue using lead bullets and so should everyone else -- and we all need to quit supporting the legislators who support the AR's!

Supporting antis anything is NOT why I tried Barnes and other copper bullets. I like to try new things. The new kid on the block was Hammer Bullets when I read about them.

I am a speed freak so I use lighter for caliber bullets. Presently Hammers rule for me.

Granted lead is not good for us at all, that's pretty much a fact, but.. how many big animals do you eat a year? Lead also leaches out of the body over time, if you don't keep adding to it. I shot a Deer one year (1986) with my .257 Wby Mag, two lung shots almost touching on the back side of hide... with a Nosler (older style) 100gr ballistic tip, I'd say around 350 yards, gutting it, I found no bullet(s) just flakes of copper jacket, so the chest cavity was filled with lead and blood, the lugs were all but gone, very explosive impact(s) Of course I washed the animal and cavity clean before taking into the meat guy for some super good Germany sauage. So how much lead was I exposed to, it's hard to say, but... I'm sure some. How many Deer did I eat that year? Just part of that one. With that said; not long after that I went with the 100gr Barnes .25 cal XLC bullet- blue coated copper bullets and never looked back it's a fantastic bullet, I bought a few hundred nearly 1k glad I did at the time because they went out of production years later. Ok, that's my 0.2 on lead bullets and eatable game, and then you have Lead and Roman Empire which might help shed a little light on the conversation. Cheers
