I’m Convinced. No Lead Bullets for Game

Been hunting since early 1960s. I have eaten a lot of lead birdshot. To be polite at the dinner table, I have eaten some lead bullet pieces, hard to be polite digging in your mouth of food for a piece of bullet.
I have had lead bullet pieces in me since '74.

Cannot see that the lead has caused me any problems. Or my father, friends, relatives or other hunters.

As for the Condors, if memory is correct, the problem was DDT that was killing them and harming the egg shells, not lead.
But, it is easy for gun, and hunting haters to make up facts that agree with the agenda they are pushing.

I'm not sure what the issue is. There are applications for ALL the bullets being produced. Even in "Beavis and Butthead", they said "many paths up the same mountain". That really summarized this whole conversation.

In the water treatment industry, regulators lowered the limits of arsenic (often naturally occurring) allowed in drinking water from 50 ppb to 10 ppb intending to reduce bladder and kidney cancer. In the industry, there was the widespread opinion that This was not due to medical research suggesting a problem, but advancements in testing and treatment technology that allowed detection and removal to lower concentrations in the sample. Arsenic has such a bad reputation that they were almost forced to lower the limits to deal with ignorant consumers and activists who could see they were getting "dozens" of "parts". Never mind that the "dozens" were parts per billion and 50 ppb is so similar to 10 ppb that you would need a sample population of enormous size to even begin to determine causality. Arsenic levels hadn't changed just labeling made it feel different. I would be surprised if the new level requirements saved even one life - although it did sell a lot of reverse osmosis treatment devices. Same kind of unsupported fear with lead bullet fragments.

It appears that the lead eaten in game meat degrades rational thinking, over a sufficient period of time. The longer folk have consumed lead, the less rational. I amuse myself

I've been heavily involved in the opposition against the anti-hunting crowd since 2003 on a local, state and national level -- and aware of it since 1992! It's the same group of people who are the extremist animal rights (AR's) people which are Peta, HSUS (Humane Society of the United States), Predator Defense etc! They're all on the same side of the political aisle and have many of the same personality traits! The no lead movement in regards to hunting has taken root from the efforts of Peta, HSUS and other AR's! Falling into that mantra is falling into their agenda which advocates no animal use whatsoever, including not owning pets! Each step to compromise with the AR's -- or buying into the no lead movement is a step closer to their extremist agenda! I'm 78 years old and have eaten game killed with lead bullets all my life and am still healthy -- both physically and mentally! I will continue using lead bullets and so should everyone else -- and we all need to quit supporting the legislators who support the AR's!

Geez! How many of us old timers have bitten into and even swallowed lead shot in various birds and small game? After hundreds of medium and large game killed and then eaten using lead core and cast bullets, I have no concerns. Also, I've cast lead alloy bullets for nearly 60 years, and as long as one follows safe practices, its been no issue.

Edit: At my age, I'm more worried about slipping in the shower.

X2...only shot Mono's once in 52 years of rifle hunting and guiding....I guess all the shots were at least close enough to Scare the game to death!
