Hammmer bullet bash

I harvested multiple plains game in South Africa this year with Hammers in a 3006 - they worked exactly as advertised and exactly as I hoped.

You guys realize what "self proclaimed" means, right? I see that phrase used a lot on this site and my perspective is that most of those saying that about the person in question are actually the ones doing the proclaiming.

For example, has this guy ever actually claimed he's an expert? Or have people just made their own conclusions on that?

Are we just upset someone's views and perspectives don't align with our own? Is that all it is? It's easy to just try to discredit someone because you don't like what they're saying.

On the flip side, has this guy ever said the owners of Hammer are self proclaimed experts themselves? Are they? Could someone make that claim?

Just food for thought before this whole thing gets completely ridiculous.

My guess is he reached out and wanted free bullets but got told no and now his feeling were hurt…. Could be wrong but who knows

If I remember correctly someone had a 300 PRC with too slow of a twist to fully stabilize the 214gr HH and reached out to him about testing it. Due to not being highly stabilized the bullet base curved in his gel test, owner of the rifle was just going to switch to the 180 or 190 Hammers but this blowhard went on some crusade bashing Hammer bullets over the test then doubled down on the stupid and still bashes them several years later.

It's not like being legitimate, accurate, or precise means anything on the internet. You can be 100% correct, with enough evidence to plug the Missouri river if printed, and people will cut you to pieces anyway... just because they think it's fun.

This took off faster than I expected, I just happened on the video looking for witch 7mm hammer bullets to run in my 28 nosler, and seen it. I didn't look at a date.

@fordy has tested so many bullets on cull animals at rates I cannot even fathom. From buff to deer, these are real world examples of what works and what doesn't. Ask him for his recommendations and you'll get a lot of information and a lot of photographic proof, using lead or copper.

I think the hammer bullets are another tool in the toolbox vs. the best ever bullet drink the kool-aid some seem to be. So with that background I have watched some of this guy's stuff and would take anything he posts with big grain of salt. Just because people post videos and content do not make them knowledgeable let alone experts

The all too often blaming of the bullet seems to be the easiest excuse for unintended results. This you tuber definitely had an axe to grind. I think I will trust someone like @fordy over a ranting tuber. Terminal results tested by someone that shoots animals for a living is something I will pay attention to.

These threads are disappointing. For any bullet that has been around for 3 years or more you can find all the bad reviews you can read in a day, and then all the good reviews you can read in a day. There are not too many bullets out there these days that don't kill game reliably if used within said bullets design parameters. It boils down to personal preference in wound channels and max range/min-max impact velocity the hunter REALISTICALLY expects the bullet to perform at IMHO. I don't have the experience some on this site have. I have however killed or been a part of enough kills with dozens of different bullets in each of the .243 to .338 calibers to know that shot placement matters most and bullet failure is almost always actually shooter failure. The couple of bullet 'failures' I have seen still resulted in dead, recovered animals that were shot outside the bullets design parameters.

LRH is becoming? Or has become RS, SH step child? Shoot what floats your boat. Who cares what you shoot. Seems if you don't shoot what I use whether firearm, optics, bullet, loads or even how you clean a rifle is now a battle cry. Everyone has hidden agenda? Seriously? Is that what matters now on LRH?

Maybe we need to resurrect this older thread?
