Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

This thread was just getting started! I thought I'd throw some fuel on the fire with this article on why knockdown power is $/!:&/)/(/!! šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

This was the same theory I had as a youth in observing the different reactions of a large sample size of deer (culling) to the same combination of factors - cartridge, bullet, hit angle, animal alertness, etc... And not just from the target animal response but from the effect on the lungs/heart. Some had holes. Others exploded. Only thing I could come up with.

Time to have some fun
Isn't Tikka the "illegitimate" child of Company known for their rifles and their new owner best known for average pistols and great shotguns? The "volkswagen" of the rifles?

Well.... From what they tell me any old 7-08 is good but the Tikka's are magical and have super powers. I have no reason to doubt them... ;)
Makes senseā€¦.

If I have another brand in 7-08 and wear a man bun is it as good as a Tikka? Asking for a friendā€¦

Man buns take it to a whole new level... But no... At Tikka is a Tikka is a Tikka... No substitutions... LOL

I imagine that I'm not the only one that gets almost nauseous when he sees a man bun. I just don't get it I guess. It think it's part of the metrosexual look but to me it's... well... Guess I'll leave it at that....

Well... those hunting with the 7mm-08 and creedmore can of course walk on water. Just that in canada it's frozen!!!
Well... Y'all can disrespect the Creedmoor all you want but to be honest with you the only two purely factory rifles I have chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor both shoot reliably right at a half inch and with factory ammo and that is crazy accurate. Also at 300yds the groups are ridiculously small. I don't have a proper range that is longer here that I'm a member of but this summer we intend to do some 400-600yd hog hunting on my lease over bait and I don't think I'll need more gun but time will tell.

I've always hunted medium to large game with 30 caliber rifles but other than elk or moose I don't think I'll be undergunned with a 6.5 Creed. I guess time and some experience with it will tell the story but from what I read it will be adequate easily out to 600yds.

Now if I could just fine a magic 7-08 Tikka.... ;)

OH... And regarding that article on Outdoor Life regarding the Rifle Knockdown Power Myth, I think they're spot on.
Here it is again for those of you that might have missed it....

TBH, I have a Tikka CTR in 6.5CM for working on my long range shooting. Put it in a KRG Bravo stock and it shoots great.

But my hunting rifle is a 7mm RM shooting 160 gr tsx or 162 gr eldx. It did seem a little much on the last deer I took at 50 yds thoughā€¦ those ELD-X's really open up!
