My oldest standby: 308 165 Hornady BTSP
I have used 17, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30 (but never a 30-06), 33, 35, 37, 40, 41, 44, 45 revolver and rifle, 500 and 50bmg on game. No .20, 8mm, 9.3 nor 475/480 yet. Bigger is mostly better until holdover is an issue, then faster or higher bc come into play for me.
I needed a rifle in a hurry this year. Out came a 16" 308. Killed a deer at 200 yds just like putting on socks. There is a lot to be said for familiarity with a gun and load.

6.5 Creedmoor loaded with 123gr Hornady SST. Awesome load, effective out to 500. I've had great results with it. Huge internal damage and decent exit hole.

Manners EH1A stock Trued up Remington action proof Sendero carbon barrel night force nsx optics atlas bipod In the picture it had a timney Calvin elite trigger but it has a trigger tech with a flat shoe now I like it much better. It was built by my buddy Dave Austin at my local gun store in Savannah Tennessee called Surematch
