To those interested in the cartridge why 300 PRC?

I keep hearing alot about the 30 Nosler also. As I said I like to try stuff and it keeps me appeazed for a few weeks and I move it and try something else. I like to reload more than anything. For the 30 Nosler are there many options for factory ammo? Or is it a must reload cartridge?

I hope you are not talking to me. I have a Creedmoor, I have a 6.5 PRC and have multiple of each. I also have a 300 PRC and it will be my last because with the limitations I have chosen for my hunting rifles which is .532 bolt face in a 3.750" mag box the 30 Nosler outperforms the 300PRC.
No one in particular. But if you're reluctant to accept them, then don't.
Other people like them, despite all their so called shortcomings. We don't get to decide what other people use, or how companies market their products.

No and the factory ammo sucks. I rarely see the 210s shoot well in any rifle and the 180s shoot great in most rifles. The 180s shot great both of my SAAMI chambers but I did not buy a 30 to shoot 180s. As I have stated several times the 300 PRC already owns the factory ammo and it has not even caught on yet.

Exactly. It does not change by curiosity.

Yeah I agree I dont think I would want to shoot no 180s either. Thats crazy that no one is giving a factory offering in 215 or 225s.

It may have something to do with a patent? I really don't know. I know several rifle builders building the crap out of them and obviously it is popular enough to get Bertram and ADG brass.

When I posted what I liked about the prc, it was what I liked about the prc. It doesnt mean that I like everything about it or that some of the same good features aren't present in other cartridges. I think we should all keep that in mind.
If I had my way, which I did, I would take the good features of the prc and modify the case to perform at least as well as the Nosler; which I did. Thats why we have choices and one size doesnt fit all.
Anyway, if we focus on the op's question, its very simple: what do you like about the prc? I'm as guilty as anyone about "comparing" (sometimes to my detriment) because I design things.
Isn't America great!!!:D

I think the fact that you are improving the cartridge really says a lot. LOL!. I figured you would be excited as soon as I saw the release. Just a few slight mods to your old 30-375 improved with less brass prep.

You're going to be very disappointed then. There's new cartridges in the works as we speak.
That's like saying, no need for new cars, just better gas and oil.

Compare the old standard 300 WM load with a 190 SMK to a 230 gr Berger hybrid loaded our in a Wyatt's mag to 3.6-.7. Now compare it to a similar load in 300 PRC.

This guy right here is a prime example of new cartridges.
Someone is always tweaking and making things better.
Hornady did it, and Rich makes it even better. There's always going to be new cartridges.
