That was a tough read!! Was there a single bullet that went through the vitals? You have gross miss, then one just under the spine over the lungs which unless you shoot a bullet that really grenades and cuts the dorsal aorta you might run into issues. Then shot three is below the heart and back, last I looked inside a deer if you put a bullet anywhere BETWEEN the ones that hit he would have had something. We all screw the pooch, happens, it's hard to recover from a first round being so far off, that's usually the point it's just better to put the gun away and start over cause it's not going to get much better. This was the thread in question, in case you hadn't seen it.
AZ Coues deer-6.5 Creedmore and Hammers
As I promised... a report on my Coues deer hunt in AZ, with the 6.5 Creed, and the 85 grain Hammers. I harvested a beautiful 110" buck at 430 yards! My gun is a Wby Vanguard RC, stock box factory. Range Certified (RC), with a Leupold Vx6, 4-12 power, with the CDS dial, for the 85 grain Hammer at...www.longrangehunting.com
We've killed a lot of whitetail out to the 600 yard range with a 22-250 and a 52 gr bullet, you gotta put them in the middle though!! Super nice buck awesome he finished it out and recovered him, better shooting works mo better!!
