    I'm just wondering what freebore you run in your 284 for the 140 class bullets? Hope all is well with you and your's. Thanks for your time. Robert

    Thanks. I have a 284 that set up for the 180 VLD class bullets so has a long freebore. I can start a 140 grain by hand and close the bolt and the bullet does not even move so no where near the lands. I haven't tried shooting one but I would think that much jump wouldn' t be good. LOL.     I contacted a custom rifle maker once regarding seating depth and bullet jump and he mentioned that he thought if the chamber was cut in perfect alignment with the bore, the seating depth issue would not be an issue in accuracy for most shooters. It's the extreme target guys that are looking for the 1/10 MOA 200 yd groups that will see a problem.
