I got one.........while fishing on the bank of a local river, me and a fishing buddy noticed a medium sized (plate sized) turtle across the river on the opposite bank. My friend had his old ruger mark 1 semi auto 22 pistol, complete with fixed sites with him. The river is well over 100 yards wide at the spot we had set up on . I told him I bet I could hit that turtle with his gun. Not another word was said as the pistol was handed to me. First shot was a good 40 ft short. The second, 20ft. The third was met with a solid crack echoing back at us as the turtle rolled into the water. I could hit with that little pistol and had used it to dispatch squirrels on a few tree rat hunts. But that was by far my most impressive shot with the old girl.
