Would like to know more about that .375 AI

I know the question was about "longest kill shot". But for me some of my most interesting shots have NOT been about how far away but about how close...

Caribou: 270 yards w/300WSM (shot him through the antler)
Kodiak Island Blacktail Deer: 420 yards w/7MM Magnum (brown bear got this deer)
Moose: 48 yards w/338 Winchester Magnum (he charged me)
Wolf: 29 yards w/300 WSM (after I shot him his 6 pack mates came after me)
Brown Bear (900 lbs): 9 yards w/44 Magnum-320 grain Ace Dubie hard cast bullet
Black Bear (324 lbs): 17 yards w/44 Magnum-320 grain Ace Dubie hard cast bullet
(And I think you can imagine what these two bears did).
Looks like you'd have some good fire-side stories to tell!!!

My longest shot - Was in Zimbabwe in 2008 - coming back from all day hunting. Saw jackal sitting, facing us. So, I had only a full frontal shot. Got a good rest. I remember starting to squeeze the trigger, but breathing and my rest was not right. Reset myself, breathing right.... Aim for head, gently squeeze trigger. THWACK. Thought I hit trees behind, but my PH and two trackers were ECSTATIC and shocked I hit it. Was 500m (as per my PH) with Sako 75 in 300 Win Mag with 180gr TSX Corbon ammo. I'll never forget that shot.....

2144 yards rock chuck, 338 MOAG with 300gr SMK, was in 2005 so it was ranged with a Wild optical rangefinder and later verified by gps and 1/2 and 1/2 laser. Rangefinders have come a long way since then.

1332 on a cow elk twas 6 yards from crossing back to her home state of Utah. High shoulder dropped her like a bad habit.
Dead calm no wind, sun at my back long open field best shooting conditions ever.
300 rum ai 230 @3120fps
I practice out to 2200 in the wind and I know my limitations.
