Let’s see those Smokeless builds!!

Finally got 'The Thin Blue Line' back today!!👍 That's what I'm calling it anyways….for a couple reasons. The Kydex cheek rest has 'The Thin Blue Line' theme and the other reason is sort of self explanatory 👮‍♂️😇. Looking forward to hitting this thing with some pressure tomorrow!

Here we go !!! 👍 The rabbit hole has no bottom :)
I like the name you gave it.
How about some specifics?

Thank you, Sir! Specifics are as follows (a few changes from my #175):

-26" Brux pre-fit barrel w/H.I.S ignition & Hankins barrel nut
-Hankins 'Master Blaster' brake
-Holland .250 Recoil Lug
-Remington 700 L/A (bedded, bolt face squared/lugs lapped) w/ 2lbs trigger-job
-Leupold 'Back Country' 20 MOA rail (bedded)
-Warne 'Maxima' rings (steel)
-HS Precision PST036 stock
-Kydex from 'Matthew's Fabrication'
-Sightron SIII 6-24x50 'PSR' series (bedded)

Got it 'on paper' yesterday and will try to put it through some paces today as time (honey do's) permits. 😇

You're going to love it!

Sounds like a wonderful rifle. I'm still working on mine and hope to be able to post pictures of it soon.
I'm curious about a couple things you mentioned, both regarding bedding.
You said the rail is bedded and the scope is bedded. You used bedding compound between the rail and receiver? Why? What would it do that not doing that would not do?
You said the scope is bedded. Did you maybe mean you lapped the rings?

To eliminate any potential flex of the rail due to minor 'mating' inconsistencies between rail and receiver.

Not exactly. I follow the below regimen:

Is it always necessary? Nope. Does it ever hurt? Nope. 😇

Well, my new SML quite literally "ATE" the brand new Sightron SIII 6-24x50 'PLR' series scope…..and it only took @ 60 shots to do it. First, the POI started to 'wander'…then making a 1/2 moa windage correction resulted in 3 moa travel on the target…then 'IF' the elevation responded at all was 3-4 moa off. Sent the scope back for a full refund and put a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 on the rifle. Have 47 shots with the Nightforce and all is well…so far. 🥵

...... so far?

Chances are you wouldn't break that Nightforce if you threw it on the concrete.

I can't even begin to think of the numbers of shots I've made with mine. Probably a thousand just with the Ultimate BP Xpress and who knows with SML and heavy charges of BH.

There's no bottom to the rabbit hole......... :)

Considering the 'torture tests' you provided me links to I'm sure you're correct. I'll breathe easier at some point. I'd never had a Sightron fail me until now. 😵‍💫
There better NOT be a bottom to the rabbit hole. I think I'd actually be heart-broken if it ever materialized…..

Just shot a few rounds in the backyard Not a muzzleloader my 338
