Let’s see those Smokeless builds!!

You guys are killing me ! I haven't seen my ML for years. I pulled it out of the deep, dark bowels of the safe and checked it out. It's black powder only, TC .50 cal, uses 209 primers. Certainly not in same league as the rigs you guys are using. Am going to check it out, clean up from storage and take her (Betty) to the range. I hope you haven't awakened a sleeping giant.

Thanks, ??
Tommy

Just finished this 45 caliber muzzleloader up for a buddy. This is a group at 100 yards. I used hanks ignition system and a 28" brux barrel and 300 grain pittman Aeromax bullets. These rifles just shoot!!

Thank you, Sir! Specifics are as follows (a few changes from my #175):

-26" Brux pre-fit barrel w/H.I.S ignition & Hankins barrel nut
-Hankins 'Master Blaster' brake
-Holland .250 Recoil Lug
-Remington 700 L/A (bedded, bolt face squared/lugs lapped) w/ 2lbs trigger-job
-Leupold 'Back Country' 20 MOA rail (bedded)
-Warne 'Maxima' rings (steel)
-HS Precision PST036 stock
-Kydex from 'Matthew's Fabrication'
-Sightron SIII 6-24x50 'PSR' series (bedded)

Got it 'on paper' yesterday and will try to put it through some paces today as time (honey do's) permits. 😇
Well, my new SML quite literally "ATE" the brand new Sightron SIII 6-24x50 'PLR' series scope…..and it only took @ 60 shots to do it. First, the POI started to 'wander'…then making a 1/2 moa windage correction resulted in 3 moa travel on the target…then 'IF' the elevation responded at all was 3-4 moa off. Sent the scope back for a full refund and put a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 on the rifle. Have 47 shots with the Nightforce and all is well…so far. 🥵

Will be putting the 'Thin Blue Line' up for sale in a day or 2….minus scope, rings and bipod. Have another build that will be ready in a couple weeks and this one needs a new home. 😉

Well, the 'Thin Blue Line' has gone 'up North' to it's new home…..and without further ado……here's "Malleus"!!

Went up to Dry Ridge, Ky this past Friday and met up with Jeff Hankins who did the barreled action for me. First, let me say that it was an honor to meet and hang out with Jeff. He took time out of his crazy-busy schedule to show me around his shop and explain how everything works while my daughter played with his dogs 'Lapua & Rogue'. Jeff is one heckuva 'down to earth' guy and his Machining/Gun Smithing is second to none. I'm really looking forward to shooting at his Kentucky Challenges and meeting some of his message board members……if I can ever get the scheduling to work out.

Here's some specs on 'Malleus':

-Defiance 'Outcast' action w/bead blast finish
-Brux 26" 1-20 twist #17 contour w/bead blast finish
-Defiance 20 moa scope rail
-Hankins 'Master Blaster' brake
-H.I.S ignition
-Jewell Trigger set at 1 lbs
-Hawkins Oberndorf bottom metal (jaoutdoors)
-HS Precision PST025 fully adjustable stock (bedded Devcon 10110)
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22X50 MOAR-T reticle bedded into Warne steel rings
