Well, it appears that this thread owner, one Mr. djones, got his fanny in a sling. Seems that on weekends he's been heading down to the vicinity of the Pease River where there is a sand and gravel operation pulling sand and gravel, well Duh!, out of the riverbed up near the headwaters. When they are processing the material they are pulling out, it seems they stir up what little water there is and it becomes murky with dissolved solids, which washes downstream.
Well our illustrious Mr. Jones, had apparently shot a Hog or two down in that area below this operation and stumbled onto something that no one suspected. It appears that within the muck that was being stirred up, there was molecular level Gold that became suspended in the water and when the Hogs downstream drank it, and Hogs drink a LOT of water when they can get it, it processed its way through their system until it hit the lower intestine and settled out in the lower parts of the gut. Apparently djones was either cutting one up to throw it in the truck or it somehow ruptured the gut and he found a small pocket of Gold within the intestines of the Hog.
Now, molecular gold normally would pass right on through, but pure molecular gold has a positive charge UNLESS exposed to Hydrochloric acid and if it has any contaminants such as silver, it will develop a negative charge and will start clumping together with the pure positive charged Gold molecules. Think nuggets!
Now how long this has been going on, no one knows and he's not talking and in fact is denying the whole thing, but it became one of his favorite places to hunt and he was supplementing his income with small, but valuable amounts of Gold dust he was panning out of the guts of every hog he shot. Seems he was recovering between 1/10th and 1/8th of an ounce or to put it another way, between $120.00 and $150.00 per hog, from every hog! Therefore, he was cashing in about an ounce of Gold for every 10 or so Pigs. I always wondered why he would never tell anyone what he did with the Hogs and seemed to discount my idea of selling off the Hog meat.
Where the problem came in was that someone observed him panning in the Pease River and reported it to someone else and it found its way to the Texas Division of Mines and Minerals. Since Gold had never been reported in that vicinity, they sent out an observer and caught him panning out the hog guts in a State controlled waterway WITHOUT A MINING PERMIT! Not only that, but he had forgotten to renew his hunting license, so the Department of Fish and Game got involved for his shooting all those hogs without a hunting License. Maybe you've noticed he hasn't posted a Hog picture in the last several weeks? Well he has been restricted to his home and work place!
At the state level, there is a big interdepartmental fight over who has jurisdiction of the Hogs. Mines and Minerals are claiming that since the Hogs were mineralized, they fell within their area of jurisdiction. Fish and Game has stated that since the Hogs are considered Game, they should have jurisdiction over prosecuting him. Anyway, it seems probable that since Hogs can process Gold internally, they may become a protected species. At this point in time there's no telling who's going to win, but djones will be the loser either way. Just to add a little more fuel to the fire, the IRS is auditing all of the last 10 years or so Income Tax records to see if he claimed any of it! Always wondered about that custom made AR and the Creedmore and all the other toys he uses to hunt with.
It's going to be interesting to see how this pans (pun intended) out! Sure hope I don't start a Gold rush by posting all of this!......................
