When Midway first posted the ELD bullets on their website in late October I immediately backordered 1 box of each bullet weight in all of the calibers, so far the 200 gr 30 cal is the only one that has come in, they gave me the choice of shipping the 1 box out Monday or wait until they all come in, I paid for them and they sent me an email confirming they will send out on Monday Dec 14th ....
the original date of stock arrival was listed as Nov 28th, they are 2 weeks past that but are starting to trickle in which is a good sign, we all remember the ABLR availability nightmare , sure hope Hornady doesn't go that route
*** update ***
Just as I posted this I got an email from Midway that my box of the 200 gr 30 cal ELD-X bullets was shipped out !
Game on folks, my daughter has a winter cow moose tag that expires on Dec 25th and we have been holding off pluggin one and saving the hunt for the 220 gr 30 cal ELD-X bullet that I have coming from another source that had been testing them at long range on elk in the west, whichever gets here first, the 200 or 220 gr ELD-X ..... is going moose hunting, the plan was to send the 220 gr at 3200 fps for a full on shoulder bone shot at 100 yards or less, I'm really interested in those results, have plenty of feedback with spectacular kill shots on elk at 400, 1100 and 1500 yards .......
