Hammer bullets

Got a load down to .385MOA in my .300 WM. Almost every load with just a couple exceptions were sub MOA.

It's a totally stock Browning X-bolt hells canyon long range. Not the one with the McMillan stock. That one was out of my price range. Right now it's wearing a Bushnell Engage 4-15x44 in tally rings. I'm saving up for a Zeiss Conquest V4 4-16x44 to put on top.

I just returned from the range where I fired my .375 - .416 Rem with a 27.5" barrel. The range was 300 yards. Five shots with Hammer Sledgehammer 275 grainers. Each shot had one grain more than the previous round. Using Federal 215 Mag primers and Varget powder, I started with 76 grains and went to 81 grains where there was a slightly sticky bolt lift and a very slight ejector mark; very slight mark. Anyway shots number 2-6 made a group of 2 1/8". I will load 79 grains with different primers and see what happens. By the way 79 grains was barely compress. Velocities started at 2,839 and went to 2,946. The load, 79 grains, recorded 2,903 feet per second.

If someone knows how to post a photo from a text, and will help, I can text it them. For some reason the computer is not recognizing photos from the new phone.

....This is one example of hammer bullet ease of load work. 10 rounds and done........I'll be testing the 177 grain 7mm Hammer Hunter in a 7 RBH. Should be close to 3400fps. I expect the same easy load workup.......

That's going to be a great combo of rifle, and ammunition!

I shot a 4 inch group at 500 yards too. Didn't have the best shooting position so I'm thinking it can do better. Time to load up a few and do some drop validation out to 1000. After inputting the 3073 into my shooter app the dial up was right on too.

What is the minimum velocity for full expansion on game with monolithics like Hammers? Is it 1800fps like most bullets?
