Berger 153.5 Hybrid bullets for Hunting

Why even consider a target bullet when you have a 156 gr hunting bullet. I load 156 over H1000 and get 2950 mv and .25 moa. Out of my 6.5 PRC. Killed an elk last year at 320 yds. DRT
I bought both the 156's & the 153.5's and my gun didn't like the 156's at all. On the other hand it absolutely loved the 153.5's. I sold my 6.5 prc to a fellow member here but I will be getting another one.

Good to know. I think have of load development is fining a pill that your rifle likes

Some of their .20, .22, and .24 cal bullets do not adhere to this philosophy, at all. ;)

Neither do their .25 or .26 bullets....from every impact I have witnessed on small game.
... and so as their .30 and .33 cal bullets.

I've killed 4 deer with the 153.5 out of a PRC. Ranges 200-550 yards. Haven't hit large bones. Huge exits, blood trails were impressive.

I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures here are some from the one I did. The results we similar for the others.

Those blood trails don't look like all that impressive….
When you are red-green colorblind like me.🤣😁😂
I shot them last year and on about 7-8 deer, mostly doe, they did good. longest shot was like 390 closest probably 90-100.
