7mm sherman max

To track rounds, I use colored sharpies and cover up to just below ogive. With black target you will need to use white paper underneath - you may get color transfer to the back of target but I've never done to confirm

A drop of rubbing alcohol to bleed the color helps as well

Best bullet I've used. 151 Cayuga. 3070-3140 with N565.

What was your load for this? I'm trying the Badlands BD2s currently. Got 65.4 of 4831sc running 3020 from a 22" barrel. Want to try 565 to see if I can get some more speed.

68.5 N565 with 151 Cayuga and work up. BD2's pressure out sooner and don't get as much speed in my experience. I'd start at 68 with them.

Just shot a ladder from 65.5 to 68 with n565 and the 150 BD2s. Pressure at 68gr @ 3125fps.

Best load was 66.5 @ 3050fps.

Which one? The BD2? Not offhand but i can measure. Waiting for the Cayugas to be in stock...been out for a month.

Technically neither. Its a SAUM AI, but thats basically all a Max is. Its a reamer my smith has and he likes better than a straight saum.

The Sherman is not just an A.I.
Could be why you're seeing pressure earlier? I would use different data than for a Sherman, but glad it came out.

Its likely 76+ but its not all about capacity. My guess is he has to size the max brass down a little to chamber it?

Case capacity = 76.7gr H2O
150gr BD2 Bearing Length (using 7mm SAC comparator) = .426-.427in

I fireformed from ADG 7 saum brass. Understood its not exactly a Max, but its the closest thing available and very close.
