i have seen that if the seating stem gets hung up in the neck guide bushing on hornady dies. disassemble and make sure seating stem moves freely inside the guide bushing and make sure the guide bushing slides on the case neck.

Brass neck od with berger .264 bullet in is .290
Brass neck od just after pulling .264 bullet .290-291.5
Brass neck od after sizing ADG brass for 6.5 max with .290 neck bushing about 2 months ago .2885-.2895
inside neck measured with calipers the best I could was .258-.260
One last question if the bullets are .264 why do they measure.262

Take the sizing die apart, and take off the mandrel that is on it, and thread on the other mandrel that came with the die set. Then size one (taking your time and ease the neck up into the bushing a little bit at a time, backing it down and back up a little bit at a time ( until it has completely sized the neck). Then go to the seating die, and you should be fine.

Yes, and after you resize the brass it shouldn't.

If a bullet will not fit in a fire case it could be a couple things, one being you don't have enough clearance in your chamber and you need to turn down the case necks a little bit thinner. Could also be very stiff brass that needs to be annealed or could be a very dirty chamber that is not allowing the brass to expand.

Can I use a my Hornady 6.5 max die to neck down
New Norma 300 Saum brass I was thinking use a .323 neck die then use a .308 neck die then use a .295 neck die if new brass will it contact the shoulder

6.5 bushing die with 308 size brass wont work!
The hole size is too small.

I believe the bushing will fit in the die but the opening in the dies where the neck fit thru is only about .300" wide on the 6.5 Max die.

Ok I see it now can I get a 300 Saum or 7 Saum neck bushing die and neck down 300 Norma brass to a final of 295 maybe 3 times .323 .308 .295
