You could use Saum data for starting loads and work upOne last question regarding the max. Is load data gonna be the same as the 7 saum & just watch for pressure as you go up on the upper end?

We're pretty sure it will go north of 3100' at top velocity and near 3000' with a 195. We'll seeThis is looking very promising. I can't wait to get started on my rifle. I have an elk tag in November with the 7 Sherman Max's name on it.
Yup, 26". Not bad for a grown up saumMan, 3K with a 195 would be serious elk medicine! I assume that is with a 26" tube?
I'm thinking now now it should be have been named the 7 mm GUS (Grown Up Saum)
Naaa Greg at ADG makes my brass and he's the creator of the Saum. We had a lot of fun at the shot show! That might hits some nerves with Remington. Hahaha!
What powder was this with Rich?Well, the first 7mm Sherman Max was born 5/25/19 at 8:31 a.m. and weighed in at 8 lbs 5oz. Havent determined sex yet but no one cares these days anyway!
Rhian/Bigngreen spun this baby up so it should be a shooter.
He fire formed a few brass that I sent him just to get a little initial data. Here is what he learned thus far:
The cases shrunk .006" average when forming and were very uniform in shrinkage. I set the chamber length exactly at new brass length so first firing will give .006" trim.
Loaded neck o d was .316" so chamber clearance will be .004";also good.
Case capacity formed was 77.4 grains; pretty much as predicted.
Velocity with 180 hybrid reached 3071' with more left according to Rhian, and primer pocket as snug as new.So far so good and might I add the case is "mean sexy" looking!!View attachment 135383
RL26. Retumbo would likely work well and I think some good loads at 3000' + could be had with RL23 and H1000What powder was this with Rich?
