That's not the 7 PRC, it would be 7-300 PRC or 7-6.5 PRC.
Ok, so these were McWorter's own wildcats? They do a 7 sprc as well that's based of off the 6.5 prc.
Well the 7PRC will be whatever Hornady Draws up and SAAMI approves and odds are it won't be too different from the McWorter version if it's built off of the 300PRC case. That's not the 7 PRC, it would be 7-300 PRC or 7-6.5 PRC.
I suspect Aaron was having a moment of wishful thinking there. If Hornady were to standardize it on his spec's they'd have to pay him a royalty for every rifle and round produced for it.So in the original version of that podcast he makes an offhand comment that the "7 LRM, soon to be the 7 PRC". They have removed that comment, probably weren't supposed to say that. I still have it on my phone but when I went to check it today that is missing.
I can't find a drawing for it anywhere and I've been chasing the rumor all over the net from one board to the next. There are those other threads where they discuss that SAAMI has approved it. I don't see the drawing up or in info to that effect. A case similar to the 7 LRM less the long neck would follow the pattern of the 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC. That change would make it different enough to avoid royalties I would think.
…or the 7-300WM lite if we're talking performance. My next barrel will be a 7-300 PRC assuming AW has the chamber dimensions worked out for the parent case.Looks like Hornady knocked off a 7 blaser.
