7mm Blaser Mag experience?

I wonder what temp stable powders would perform the best. I want one load from 95 degrees to -15 degrees. Hogdon powders have always worked well for me. Any other ideas?

Probably H4831sc would be your best bet. Maybe H1000 or Retumbo, but I'm not sure you could get enough of it stuffed in the case, without a pretty healthy loss in velocity.

Update on some load info:

I spoke with Berger tech support today and here is what they gave me.
The guy was real nice and said these are conservative and generated from quick load.
7mm Blaser Magnum
COAL 3.300

7mm 175gr EOL (barrel length 26")
Powder Start. Vel max. Vel
H1000 66.5 2775 69.8 2920
Retumbo 69.5 2820 73.3 2980

7mm 195gr EOL (barrel length 27")
Powder Start. Vel max. Vel
H1000 63.0 2632 66.2 2766
Retumbo 66.0 2703 69.6 2844
RL33 70.0 2701 73.9 2874
VitN570 67.0 2728 70.4 2881

I think this COAL is short and you could easily get it out to 3.5-3.65 with the right magazine. Honestly if I could get 2900fps out of the 195's I would be pretty happy.

You'll need a really long throat/freebore for that long of a OAL and secondly, stretching the OAL out that far will leave you with VERY little bullet shank to grip. I've always been told, you want about the bullets diameter of shank in the neck. With a 3.5-3.6 OAL you'll likely be well under that.

Good catch. I did the math and you are correct. I think if I could seat the 195's bullets to COAL of 3.40-3.45 then I would be right there and taking up the least amount of case capacity with the bullet.

Midnight, a couple things to share.
My OAL with the 180 ELDM is 3.431
At .012 off. Also my freebore is .230
This puts the bullet boatail junction approx. at the neck/shoulder junction. 195's will be similar. In preliminary load work the 195's .012 off with 64g. Re-26
Velocity was at 2880. From 26" bbl.
I'm confident I can get them to 2900
Safely, with different powders & or HBN. Also my improved Rogue case allows for approx. 4gr. Increase in capacity.

I'd bet you will pretty easily get to 2900+ in your improved version which, IMO, is pretty darn good for a case this size and only a 26in. barrel.

Ok so now I'm about to get some dies and brass for my 7mm blaser build. What dies is everyone using and what options are there? I see Redding has them but wanted to know what everyone is using.

Also who has the best deal on the brass?

I got my Blaser Rogue bushing die & micrometer seater from Whidden.
Brass I buy from Mid South Shooters Supply. If you check with them on line
Occasionally it goes on sale.

Rogue7,

How much were the dies? Do they have standard 7mm blaser dies available?
