7mm Blaser Mag experience?

So I just ran some COAL numbers with the 195 berger and the 7 mm blaser and it looks like if you seated the bullets with the start of the bearing surface at the base of the neck (boat tail protruding into the powder column) you would have a COAL of 3.431" which would work pretty awesome in a long action AI mag box.

I put together for a friend a 7mm Blazer improved to replace his 7mm STW its performance has been great with 180gr bergers at 3100fps + in a 28 inch lilja behind R33. Where it shines over the 7mm STW is that he can magazine feed the long 180gr bergers seated long to the lands.

What magazine setup are you using and how is it feeding from the mag? I want to modify some magpul long action magnum magazines so they will feed but the magpul site says they won't work. Any help would be great.

In my 7mm Blaser mag I'm just kissing the lands with a 180 Berger Hunting VLD at 3.265. With a Hornady 175gr ELD-X 3.301

Rogue7, any chance you could measure one of your fired cases for case capacity using water? From a fired piece of brass, mine measure 84.2gr of water.

Unrelated, but I still think this case necked down to 270 shooting the 170 Bergers would make for a very sweet setup!

B23, 84.2? I will have to check mine.
Only info I have is the Norma manual has
Water capacity listed 81.1

And QuickLoad lists the 7mm Blaser at 82.50gr water on an unfired case.

I've measured some of my new unfired brass and I don't recall exactly what it was but I remember is was slightly larger than what QL has it listed as.

If you have quickload would you mind running the 195 berger and 175 berger elite hunter bullets with H1000 and retumbo for me?

Per QL a max load with H1000 & 195's out of a 26in. barrel will run about 2840fps. Same but with Retumbo will be right around 2890fps. The 175's with H1000 2950fps & with Retumbo 3000fps. This is using standard seating with an OAL of 3.300 but even when I stretched them out, per QL, it didn't change velocites very much.

What psi were these max loads at?
