22 Creedmoor Build

If I didn't already have a 22-250AI, I'd be seriously considering this. Looking at the AI next to a 6.5 Creed they're very close in size and shape.

It should be performer with the heavies. I wish I had a little more twist but I went with a 1:8 to not put me in the heavy only range. So far it's shot the 69-80 grain VLD's great.

I have converted a bunch of the Hornady brass already. I used a Redding 6CM bushing die to do that. I also have some Prime(Norma) brass that I will be necking down from 6.5CM after I run it through the annealer. I have been slowly collecting parts, but it is coming together. Should be a lot of fun.

I have a similar round, I run a .22 middlestead with a 75gr vld @ 3400+ fps... I'm using 7828ssc and am going to try h1000. I would like to put a 7 twist on it instead of a 9twist and run the 90+ gr pills... I've had this cartridge since before there was a creedmoor.

My 22 Creedmoor, (1:8) is almost finished and I'll be trying 80.5 Bergers. However, I'm looking for starting loads with the 73 gr. Hornady ELD with either H-4350 or RL 26. Thought I could just adjust down on the powder using a 75 gr Hornady but, I can't seem to find any info on it. Help!!

I haven't loaded anything lighter than 80gr. I've been mostly shooting 95gr SMK. I've been using r26 powder for all my 22 creed loads.

These are some I made up with 80gr ELD

80gr hornady ELD
6mm hornady brass, first firing
Fed 210
41.5gr 3110fps sd 20
42.0gr 3144fps sd 5
42.5gr 3180fps sd 17
43.0gr 3230fps sd 9

Separate day running suppressor and fireformed brass

43.0gr 3305fps SD 12
43.5gr 3349fps SD 14
44.0gr 3370fps SD 24 Hot

Are you shooting a bolt action or an AR?

Just really wondering now. All the info I have, is, of course from Internet commandos. You note 44.0 grains as hot. Whereas, I have gleaned off the 'net many loads that list loads as high as 2-3 grains above your listed load. I know, all guns are different. At this point I think I'll probably start 1 gr. below your listed load for the 80's.

Well, went a different direction this afternoon. I loaded up some 75 gr ELD's at 44.0-44.5-and 45.0 with RL26. Guess I'll find out tomorrow morning!!

You are correct and it varies some with brass used but with 75-80 gr bullets and Reloder 26 somewhere around 45gr should be getting warm but in my rifle it's not max.
Based on several 22 CM's with 22-24 inch barrels as you approach 3500 fps that's when things are likely to get sticky.

That ought to bump speed some for sure. Just a guess then you should see 3550 with 45 gr maybe a tad more.

Well, 45.0 grs. of RL-26 gave me an average of 3472 for 5 shots out of my 28" barrel. I 'm shooting a Pac Nor SSSM. This is my 3rd PAC NOR lately and man, they sure clean up sweet! Copper build up is almost nil. Magneto Sporter Chrono.
