Please don't tell me that you would honestly do that. I'm being very serious here. Good God almighty, dont do that!!! This thread was about preparedness. And deciding on what makes sense for you to gather going forward for weathering a bad situation to help yourself and family. Nothing else.

But that lack of planning will be the downfall of many people. In a SHTF situation, you will not be able to go to the store to get stuff. the cities will be full of those who are more than willing to try to take yours for themselves, so it's not even safe to consider. All animals will be killed within about 2 months from over hunting and most farm animals will die, well cause nobody is going to be able to feed them. So what's left to eat? Near about everybody I know depends on electricity or the city to provide water. Sure theres ponds and lakes. Generally on other peoples properties or in their neighborhoods. Guess who's gonna be watching you when you go for water. Money will mean nothing and people won't be able to use gold for anything. Why would someone barter for something that has no use? I read an article that says go grab your bug out bag and go camping for three days. Don't pack anything extra in, just what's already there. If you can't make it three days, then end times are not for that person. Surviving in those hard times will be more about networking and cooperation than firearms. Just my take on it.

The only rifle I would add to these already listed would be a big thumper; .338 Lapua or larger, loaded up with solids, for its anti vehicle /anti body armor capabilities. 50 BMG would be better, but too heavy. That's why I went with the .338.

Lots of folks will make it through until bartering becomes the way of things. This is why I made the list of what I thought would be the most common, available, and sustainable guns/ammo/components. For me and mine. Everyone has their own take on it. Thats ok. Do your homework and make a plan to survive, not give up in the face your supposed eventuallality. See ya on the other side. Maybe. It has been generally thought that the 350 legend is not being welcomed into the arms of the shooting community much. There are plenty of similar calibers thay do the same thing as the 350 legend. The reason you saw ammo for it is that is few people bought into it. There will undoubtedly be some that take issue with my comment. To each, there own. It's all good.

I know. My post was more of a joke than anything. I have kicked around the idea of a AR pistol in 350 legend though as a close range thumper for a truck gun.

12 is mandatory plus helps if you load
.357 Mag S&W 686+ for 7 shot surprise
AR10 .308
300WM for thumper

The .177 I have has killed nuisance coons in backyard one shot so its got decent power. You can stockpile thousands of pellets that fit in your hand. Little bit quieter for staying under radar.

If (when) it gets to this point, I'm semi-prepared materially speaking - but more importantly I'm fully prepared spiritually. To know Jesus as Savior and trusting Him to handle what comes our way is IMHO - the best strategy of all.

Just as a side note, you know about 8 percent of the US is on thyroid medication, and around 88 percent of the population uses Diabetes medications. Just something to keep in mind when it all goes south. Not a doom and gloom kind of person, just a realist. I'm going to enjoy my time here and worry about that stuff when it comes.

He made a similar comment about needing only one gun for such a situation…we were all amazed. We questioned his comment, his reply in his very slow carefully worded reply was, "I'll kill that sob and take his gun"! With some folks, that may be all that's needed! memtb

Most of those 88% are Type 2 secondary to obesity, so that will quickly take care of itself.

Scarry thought. But there are folks out there that will do this. I really didn't want to go to the extreme on the subject. I was just curious what folks were thinking in respect to caliber specific ammo, guns, and components they thought were necessary for them, just in case.
