Well, I look at it by yardage; long range - rifles, short range-slug gun, close and personal pistols and revolvers, then everything else, bow, crossbow, axes, knives, crowbars and 10 year old Twinkies.

- You can shoot a zombie from 0yds to 800yds
with a rifle. Not so same same with pistol.
- SWAT teams don't use pistols
- Don't never want to get caught in a rifle fight with
a pistol.

SWAT teams don't use pistols, generally.
Carry them, yes…..
Maybe 4-5th man through the door with pistols, but mainly cuffs and zip ties.
Rifle fight with a pistol sucks.

Absolutely! However a handgun is another tool in the tool bag…..it has it's place and usage! In the hands of a "properly trained operator". it can be very effective! memtb

Just make sure you have slings and holsters for the stormy weather tools. That way it's not an "either / or" equation. Definitely want the proper means to have the right tool available.
