What gun would you want if the SHTF?

When I was young and too stupid to think about carrying tp I once used my boxers. Another time I shot at a buck I spotted from the road. A long shot. Was looking for him and then the feeling came. I have to cr@p now ! I used my beenie off my head. I was kinda mad at myself. šŸ˜

SHTF is a broad and not so definitive abstract term. Care to expound more so I can give my .02 cents?

From the title alone I would have crafted a short-barreled 12ga. in semi-auto, long clip with full 00 buckshot.

Saiga 12 ga. W/ 10 rnd mag w/ 00 buckshot would be my choice.

I have been thinking about this thread for a few days, and I honestly cannot decide. I mean, a 10/22 and an AR-15 are the obvious choices, but like in my situation, and a lot of others here, which ones? I have several 10/22's and AR-15's. Maybe a simple 10/22 carbine and maybe a 556 pistol build AR?

The title says which gun, which limits us to just one! Honestly, how many of us would leave with just one? Most of us always have a handgun on us somewhere at all times anyways, plus... I have 2 shoulders lol, and multiple AR's that fold up in a backpack. I'm going to limit myself to just 3 or 4.

a 10/22 takedown with backpacker stock
a folding AR-15 pistol build in 5.56
an AR-10 rifle in .308win
and of course a glock 9mm that's always on me.

Good Lord, you're cheating!!!!! And alsoā€¦.i can't imagine having the luxury of being able to bring 4 guns AND NOT ONE OF THEM being a 12 gauge shotgun of some flavour! šŸ¤£

Hey, I'm limited! All my shotguns are long boys and 12ga is heavy. Maybe I'd cut the barrel on my old Mossberg 500 and throw it on a shoulder too. I'm not cutting up my nicer shotguns, even if it's SHTF hahaha

I thought that was what about. It only played here five days. Planet of apes 2 weeks. I guess I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD for $20.00 instead of watching in theater for $8.00

Don, if you have internet and obviously you doā€¦ā€¦research the Superbox. A one time purchase of $400 with no monthly premiumsā€¦..you need nothing but internet. You can get tv stations from nearly every modern country including hundreds of American city tv stations, around 30,000 movies (of all genre) including 2024 movies now showing in theaters, more sport networks than you can imagine and that's just scratching the service.

It's a bit challenging to learn how to use everything it has to offerā€¦..but pretty darn unbelievable! memtb

Much like primers, toilet paper can hoarded and sold as currency during desperate times we've learned.

I beleive it was on this forum I saw someone say "I'll trade you a pallet of toilet taper for two 8 pounders of h1000" šŸ¤£

I'm glad that I don't need any H 1000ā€¦..parting with a pallet of tp would make a considerable dent in my inventory! šŸ˜‰ memtb

If you haven't ever had to wipe your *** with a shirt tail, or sleeve, or sock, are you sure your not from the city? ;)

I'm definitely "not" from the city and haven't yet used clothing. Though, when living down south, used tree leaves more than once.

Now in Wyomingā€¦..I'd have to resort to clothing I guess! šŸ˜„ memtb

Can you imagine the parents of today with infantsā€¦ā€¦not having disposable diapers for their babies.

I suspect that not many of us used cloth diapers with our kids. Oh the daysā€¦..with practice you could thoroughly clean the kid's behind with the clean part of the diaper, rinse the diaper good in the toilet, place into the growing pile of "used" diapers, when the pile gets large enough to justify using the washing machine ā€¦ā€¦put it to work.

I'm old, but must confessā€¦ā€¦I never took diapers down to the creek and washed them! And likely won't have too, if the SHTF, I'm too old to make babiesā€¦ā€¦"that's my story and I'm stick'n to it"! šŸ˜œ me
