Your Personal RESULTS with custom long range HUNTING rifles built buy a PROFESSIONAL?

I've had around 15 or so custom rifles on mostly wood thumbhole stocks, the first one was built by a smith who used to work for a company called Ranger Arms if any of you recall that company. All the others were built by me after my apprentice under 3 different smiths, one being the man above.
Here is a target of my last build from last year, a 300WM on a Rem 700, a Douglas XX 26" SS barrel 5A contour with a Muzzle Brake and More brake.
The results speak for themselves.

My point is if you take the time to gain the skill to become a smith, even if your plan like mine was not to do it for commercial business and get the equipment you can build you own rifles and save a lot of money.
One more load for this rifle.

I would like to hear only firsthand accuracy results from people who have had a long-range hunting rifle/scope system built buy a professional gunsmith/company. Secondly, have you had them develop a round and bought ammunition from them and was it truly consistently accurate, and the tracking was good as adjustments were made for various yardage (400 - 800)? The focus is on repeatable, accurate built rifles and ammunition, and we'll see if there is a common denominator! NOT interested in this post discussing ethics/calibers, etc. If you would recommend family to use this builder, I would appreciate you sharing the specifics on your triedd and true rifle.

While I do have custom built rifles, I purchase and install my own scopes and always produce my own accurate handloads. That said, my custom rifles have always shot very well to exceptional, with 1/2 moa and below with several in the 1/4-1/3 moa range. My BR class rifles usually shoot in the 1/4 moa and below range to be acceptable.

As an old NRA competitor, we considered 500 - <800yds the MR ,mid-range, class with 800-1,000yds the LR class. Personally, I like the 1/4 mile increments: to 1/4mi SR, 1/4-1/2mi MR, 1/2-3/4mi LR, and > 3/4mi as ELR.

Check out Axisworks. They build some amazing rifles. If I had the money and need for another custom/semi-custom they are getting the work.

He had me send brass on my own dime to a local legend and prep it for me and still had an issue. I then met with the actual machinist from axis, without his knowledge, after hours and he gauged the barrel and thought there might be an issue. After talking with the action maker, lone peak, they offered to evaluate and they actually dealt with the barrel maker, proof, and were able to furnish me a new barrel. I was out all cost for everything above. I can't stress enough finding a Smith that is actually involved in the every part of the rifle building process. I learned a valuable lesson.

Interesting. I had the opposite experience with them. I had a barrel issue with mine, but it was a prefit that Axis had nothing to do with beside fitting it. He and his team spent a fair amount of time working with me and the rifle until we figured out the issue. He was beyond helpful with me and my situation of which he had every right to say wasn't his issue and wash his hands of it. He didn't and eventually after working with the barrel maker we got it all resolved. Without his expertise I would have had no idea what the problem really was and it would have been much more difficult to work with the barrel maker to get resolved.

I've had Jon Beanland of Beanlandrifles.com build me three guns. Two XP-100's specialty pistols and one Rem 700 rifle. All three are shooters. I did all load development.

I've had Shane Howeth of H2creations.com build me one XP-100 specialty pistol. It turned out very well and shoots as good as it looks.

I would use both gunsmiths again.

I have had a few custom rifles.

Currently:
Ryan Pierce with a 300 NMI
R bros with a 6.5 PRC

The 300 I have used 3 years straight elk hunting. Found a load with 230 Bergers at 3060. 3 shots, 3 elk in the freezer.

Both rifles will shoot into .3 when I do my part.

How much was the bare rifle?

It varies depending on a lot of things, but 6k plus is most models.
Just the rifle, but they shoot sub 1/4 min at 100 with factory match ammo that his reamer is setup for.

My friend's 6.5x284 from Apache Rifle Works in Comfort TX. I shoot it regularly.
.25 MOA at 600 yards confirmed, hand loads developed myself. Unbelievable tac driver!
