Your Personal RESULTS with custom long range HUNTING rifles built buy a PROFESSIONAL?

Some of us are tightwads and like to buy secondhand. But I can tell you Gunwerks produces a package that may not be 1/4MOA accurate, but is definitely in the 1/2 to 3/4 MOA area to 1000yds. with their ammo. Here is an example:
BTW, having shot this same rifle myself - I know it is capable of what Ryan says.

I've had a bunch of rifles built. Recently I've had a friend chamber and assemble. No noticeable difference in accuracy compared to professional gunsmiths. Two rifles I had built about 6-8 years ago were very nice. I had Jim Borden build me a 6.5 Sherman. I did my own load development on that one. Then I had RBros build me a 6.5x47 which shoots great as well. They sent the rifle with a suggested load and a test target. I have never shot any other load/bullet through this gun. I'm sure I couldn't improve on it. Both builds went extremely smooth with Borden and RBros. I'd recommend either one.

I have 1 semi custom rifle built off a trued Remington 700 short action. It was built my Phoenix Custom Rifles in Tempe, AZ. It's got a 24" proof barrel chambered in 7-08ai with a timney trigger and is sitting in a Mesa precision altitude stock. I topped it with a Zeiss conquest v4 4-16x44. It is very consistent in the .3-.4moa range with 140gr absolute hammers at 3003fps. I haven't shot any rifle in months due to the summer heat. I went to the range last Saturday and shot three rounds at 100 yards into .4 inches then dialed up and smacked the 6" steel at 500 yards with the next shot.

I have had customs built by 5 different gunsmiths. Hawk Hill was a personal friend- they shoot great but he no longer builds.

I have a
6CM
7PRCL
6.5 PRC
280 Ackley
300 WSM
300 Win Mag
300 PRC
7 STW
3 XML 45's
6.5 SAUM
All built by Kyle and Allen with McWhorter. They have developed all loads and I would not own one if it shot over half an inch. The XML's are the most fun, deadly, guns I have ever fired. Getting ready for Kansas this year I fired 1 round from each gun at 300 yards and had a sub 1" group- I just thought that was cool. All wear Swarovski (most are Z8's) with turrets.

Tac ops if you have the money to spend.

I've got 1 built on a interarms Mauser action in 7-08 . Brux 26 inch #5 . The stock is a McMillan a3 adjustable and timney trigger at 1.3 lbs . It's topped with a nightforce atacr 5x25x56 . The gun was built by Keith at Phoenix custom rifles on my grandfather's old 243 . It shoots barns 140s at 3055 suppressed and is way more capable than the guy behind it. Usually .3-.4 moa . The next gun is still in pieces waiting on a stock from manners . A 280ai I will have axis works here in Phoenix build .

I've had Clayton Smith and team at West Texas Ordnance build me five rifles and I purchased a sixth that they built at an SCI auction. All rifles have exceeded expectations. All six have been solid 1/2 MOA rifles (with appropriate hand loads) and a couple are real life 1/4 MOA tack drivers. I literally can't say enough good things about Clayton and his team at WTO. They are extremely professional and truly strive to exceed expectations in every situation.

I am selling a 300 Norma that they built if you have any interest.

All but one of my rifle today are custom My experience with custom is they are much easier to find loads for and get dialed in. It's rare any of my customs shoot over 1 MOA with about any load and I can get them to 1/2 with my reloads pretty easily. Factory rifles some struggle to find a load under MOA.

But at the price tags I see a lot of these customs selling for I don't think it is worth it to pay 5k-8k plus for a bare rifle. I buy all the parts them take them to my gun smith and can get a complete rifle for 2500-3500 depending on what action I use. Todays there are lots of higher end factory's for around 2k that will shoot with good loads.

I would like to hear only firsthand accuracy results from people who have had a long-range hunting rifle/scope system built buy a professional gunsmith/company. Secondly, have you had them develop a round and bought ammunition from them and was it truly consistently accurate, and the tracking was good as adjustments were made for various yardage (400 - 800)? The focus is on repeatable, accurate built rifles and ammunition, and we'll see if there is a common denominator! NOT interested in this post discussing ethics/calibers, etc. If you would recommend family to use this builder, I would appreciate you sharing the specifics on your triedd and true rifle.
I have 2 custom rifles. One from Hill Country Rifles in 7 STW shoots better than 1/2 MOA with factory ammo (Nosler), one from MG Arms in 260 Rem is a true quarter-minute rifle with custom Barnes 120 gr TTSX loads from Hendershots.

Would 100% recommend HCR.

Would not recommend MG Arms as I think they have lost some quality control chasing volume; my rifle was delivered without being test fired and the scope bases were loose. I put a 20 MOA rail and new scope on it (Scopesmith in Houston) and by luck alone it shoots lights out, but they would never know because they just screwed everything together and said "done".

Allen Precision Shooting. I have 2 semi-customs, one on a Model 70, one on a Sako V. Rebedded in original wood stocks with stainless pillars. The 300 WinMag M 70 consistently has the first 2 rounds touching with Federal Premium Barnes 180s, year after year. I will be working up some Hammer loads though.
