Just getting ready for my next build. Remington 700, 28" Sendero weight barrel chambered in 7mm Dakota with a rebated rim (never liked to color inside the lines). Won't have to open up the bolt face and will build my ammo out of 300 RUM brass of which I have plenty.

Would be nice to build my own 6.5-300 win mag. If anyone is shooting it I would like to hear pro's and con's and any ballistics they have on it. Seems like a sweet rifle.

I have a couple 6.5-300wm's. I shoot 140 Amaxs 3230fps in RWS brass or 3300fps in Winchester brass in one. In the other I shoot 123 Amax's 3450fps.

I've got a 338 Lapua and a 6.5 creedmoor on the way, after that??? A 375 Lapua interest me but I really want to get a 308 to do more high volume shooting.

Yes I am using the 195's.
Getting 3200 fps now with my "heavy" (12.75 lbs) 284 thor. 28 inch Brux barrel.

I don't like this barrel though. I think it is on the tight side. Over pressures early. 180's get 3360fps. I have tried 5 different powders with the 195's and 180's. I think there is more that this cartridge can give!! With the right barrel. Broughton 5c soon to be installed.

Using a brux barrel 1/9 twist at 28 inches.
Going to a Broughton 5c 1/8 twist at 28 inches.
I expect barrel life around 800-900 rounds.
