I always try to get a mil/mil scope. Actually my preferred hunting rig has a plain duplex with a coin turn 1/4 moa turret. I gotta remember to put a nickel in my pocket or I'm screwed. It's pretty light, paid for and as simple as bread and butter.

Mil/Mil scopes are basically what slide rule dudes said would never catch on when desk tops hit the market. By the way... those dudes were super smart too (no comparison to me) but when something better comes along... well, you know. Avoiding to convert to a system that's pretty easy because your not familiar with it is hokey. I can't stand globalists but thinking in 10's seems like a no brainer. I can't believe of all the globalist crap shoved down our throats, a basic metric system is never on the list. Seriously... what's more reasonable, grabbing a 11/16 socket or the next number up? The real challenge is measuring distances. Until we think in centimeters and millimeters, which is about as easy as learning the words to a catchy song, it'll be confusing. Wierd how we can legalize dope but can't adopt an easier way of counting.

Anyway... mil/mil because it has small numbers to remember, is halfway used by the military and like all freaks with a gender identity problem, scope manufacturers want to acknowledge mils with a mil-dot reticle but just cant come out of the closet and make their adjustments mil (ala Hawke air gun scopes which are a popular scope among Euros who just can't make a decision about how they prefer to count things).

So... Mil/Mil unless we go back to throwing rocks at the Moon when we first emerge from the cave. Or... MOA/MOA. Just make a universal decision, please.

For my purposes I use both with a high level of satisfaction given the specific purpose.
My 6.5x284, LR Hunting rifle with a Match 2.5x25x52 SFP/MOA scope; and my 6.5x47L, PRS rifle with a Nightforce F1 5x25x56 FFP/MIL scope.

I'm American so inches makes more sense to me. The whole 1/10ths to me is weird. Some of my buddies shoot mill based and I don't get it. Spotting hits at 1k is pretty easy adjustment when it's in min. MOA all the way. If someone is giving away a mill scope I'll take it though. Lol
