Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

What's not to love about the bullet being longer than the case? Can't wait to get enough brass to start running my Makers.

That thing is just sexy isn't it? I have some Makers piled up and I bought some brass from a guy in San Antonio. It's nice looking brass and it fits a Sheridan gauge. Not bad for a cartridge isn't SAMMI approved yet

Sorry guys... decision got made in a moment of weakness. Redding deluxe die set for 257 Rob AI 40 degree was on sale for $60 off regular price. AND... I looked at pictures of loaded 257 AI. And I snapped... die set bought and I don't have time to do it, but gun will get dropped off maybe tomorrow at the gun smith.

In the end, with a 22" barrel but full length standard magazine, it will give 100 fps faster (at best. At worst 75 fps) then the 257 +P ammo but it's not by far my worst pain in the butt cartridge. I have a 17-KHornet that I need to get dies for and start reloading.

I SKIPPED OVER, the .308,.. a long Time, ago !
First with, the LAZER like, .270 WSM / .270 Wby's,.. spewing 140's at, 3,200 FPS !
NOW HAVE,. the AWESOME, 6.5 Creedmoor, belching 143's at a mere, 2,735 FPS !
LOTS of Ammo available and My, personal, End of World,.. "Pick" for, LR accuracy, WITHOUT,.. the Recoil !
Give me, a few Minutes to put on my Flame Retardant Suit,.. LOL !
The .308 is, OK, IF that's ALL you "Have" ( just,.. Make Do ! ) and "Suck Up" the extra, Recoil

TRUE, it sure AIN'T,.. the 1300 Yard, "Elk Slayer" that, it was touted to Be,.. a Decade ago !
PS ; I was a 6.5 Creed, "Hater" once,.. Myself !
Bought One to replace, a .243 Win. L-H, Tikka that, My grandson "abscounded with", a couple of years ago.
YUP,. I'm NOT getting, that One back, anytime soon !
The 6.5 Creed sure beats, the old 243 Win,.. 7 ways, from Sundown, for MY uses, on Deer, Antelope, Yotes and L R Steel Fun,... IMO !
And the Barrel will last, TWICE as, Long as most, .243's !
