? what is your Deer Rifle?

Let me see:
From Sept 15-Sept 30=Desert Stryker Crossbow

From Oct 01-Oct 10= Traditions Pursuit Pro .45 Cal Leupold vari x II 3-9x40

From Oct 11-Jan 01= Rem. Model 700 7mmRemMag Bausch & Lomb -----
Elite 3000 5-15x50
or
Rem Model 700 .257 Roberts Bausch & Lomb Elite 3000 3-9x40
or
for sentimental hunts my granddad's(Pippaw Fisher) Rem Model 742 30-06 Sprg Leupold
Vari x II 3-9x40
But of all these my favorite is the ole 7mag....killed 100's of deer with it, now it has to slowed down some this year and a new barrel is in order after deer season...looking at Ted's Customs real real strong!!

270 Win has been my favorite. But last year I was carrying my 300 wby on a deer and nilgai hunt, and ended up shooting two deer with it. I was impressed that it didn't ruin much meat at all, using 180 gr Accubonds.

I plan on using an old rifle handed down to me which could become my new mid-range favorite: 303 Savage (not British).

I love animals....they're delicious.

My Mossberg 1500 in 30.06 has killed the most deer.
Sometimes I use a 7x30 waters contender.
A mauser 98 35 Whelan.
A mauser 98 257 Roberts Imp.

I have collected more deer using either a Ruger M77 in 7x57 or another Ruger M77 in .308. More often than not, I nearly always reach for one of these 2 rifles instead of my many other chamberings.

Mine is a Remington 700 in .270 win. Handload a 90 grain hollowpoint at 3625 FPS. You can't shoot a shoulder with it. but they shoot under half inch at 100 yrds. It's been 10 years since i shot a deer in the ribs. seems like i always head shot does and neck shot bucks....blood trail is much shorter.

Skipping the 30-06 all together, I opt for the "30-06 Lite" or the "30-06 on Steroids."

That's the .308 Winchester or the .300 Winchester Magnum. If I could only have one, it would be the Magnum.

Mine is a Model 7 7mm08 with 120 grain ballistic tips. I have others like everyone else but it was my first deer rifle and I've used it at least the first day for the last 14 years. I've taken truck loads of deer with it and an antelope and only had to track one nice size doe in Wisconsin.

My old favorites have been two Rem 700's in .243 and 7mm-08. I've added a couple new favorites, (at least I'm hoping they'll be favorites) First one is a Tikka T3 in 7mm-08 to replace the Remy I had to give up during a divorce and I'm currently having a .260 Rem built on an old 700 ADL I had from years ago. I still use and love the .243 too.

mine is a 1918 springfield with a very heavy 26" tube in 14 twist
in 6mm Rem ackley imp and i shoot 70 nosler bt at 4000 fps, just plain lays deer flat.I love it.

Not many calibers I don't like, but presently taking deer with a Weatherby Mark V in a .270 WBM with a 26" tube spitting 140 AccuBonds. Just changed her over to a synthetic stock with bedding block to eliminate some change of impact issues.
