Given your fixation on a certain bore diameter between .21 and .23, your number 5 should either be a really small or really big 22. A .22 hornet or a .22-284.
Not really fixated on ''22cal''. They work best for my Prairie Dog addiction.
lt seems l have this 700BDL SA Heavy Varmint wood stock and lts 6mm Rem Varmint barrel.
l'm just waiting for an affordable 700SA to tie them together. Then l'd have a true Long Range prairie dog gun that would work on Whitetail too. Esp with a 55gr Nosler Ballistic Tip or 55gr Blitzking @4000fps or a 6mm 85gr Nosler Partition @3400fps for Bambi.
The stock and 6mm barrel came from a new 700BDL 6mm Varmint of the 80s.
The previous owner had used the action for a bench rest gun
